I bought this book many years ago and I have read it cover-to-cover on more than one occasion. I have held onto this book for many years and refer to it when I'm feeling frustrated by my enmeshed family life. This book clearly identifies the variety of personality traits that can develop in a child that is raised by smothering, over-involved parents. This book has helped me to identify the source of some of my difficult-to-manage aspects of my personality and the personalities of my siblings. This book seems to understand the frustration of being an adult child of smothering parents that unintentionally deny their children the freedom to choose their own lives. If you have parents that refuse to accept your desire to be an independent and separate individual, this book is for you.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
