WOW, WOW, WOW. This book is awesome and Jane Killion really knows what she's talking about. I adopted a bull terrier pup and he was exactly like one of her own dogs that she desscribes. He couldn't give two figs about what I was trying to teach him. He was totallly on his own agenda. After doing only the first couple of excersizes in this book, he's almost a completely different dog and more than happy to start a training excersize with me. She has so much experience with one of the most stubborn breeds and she shares all her knowledge clearly with a sense of humor. If her system worked with my dog, i can't imagine it not working for anyone else's. I truly thought that my dog was mentally handicapped until I read this book. Her route may not be the best route to take with dogs that are already eager to work and train with you, but if you have a dog that looks at you like you are stupid if you think he's going to do ANYTHING you want him to do, this is a book you should read.

This book kept me captivated from beginning to end. Her descriptions are hilarious and it makes you feel better for not having a dog that lives to please you, but that actually expects something in return. It is a clearly written book and has step by step instructions that can be built upon each other for more advanced exercises, so I think it would be appropriate for both beginners and more advanced people. I wish I had found this years ago!
