Cindy is a writer who makes me want to both laugh and cry at the same time. She can really make you relate to your characters, especially the females. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

## The first story was fabulous with a hero that will melt your heart. I didn't think I'd like him at first but man did he prove me wrong. Will definitely read again. 5 stars for this one. The second story wasn't as good. The heroine was described as plain, unremarkable, built like a boy....and that bothered me throughout. How are we supposed to believe that this perfect hunk of a man who calls her 'kid' is sexually attracted to her and falls for her if she's so unattractive? Only 3 stars for story #2.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

My Review of Temptation from the Past
January Stewart is an attorney who fights for the rights of abused woman and children. During a impassion speech, given by Attorney Stewart, Michael Hayward, report/journalist, is taken by January's fiery determination and drive. Wanting to know her more, Michael makes an impromptu visit to January's office. He is greeted with an extremely cold reception from January...and maybe even fear. Spiking his interest even more, he wants to break the shell around this allusive attorney to woman beneath.
January already knows Michael Hayward and he is a man from one of her darkest nightmares. He can expose her past...but Michael doesn't recognize January as the girl form 18 years ago, the name change helps.
Reawakening dreadful memories, January must face her horrific past once again and hope she can keep her secret from Michael. They only problem...the more she gets to know him the more wants to open up. Can she give Michael the power to destroy her career and her heart or will she loose it all.
I really enjoyed this story. I was emotionally moved by January's brokenness and in the end I give Temptation from the Past 4 Stars.
My Review of Slow Burn
Joanna Taylor has had a hard life. Her father left her with family that didn't want her after her mother died in an accident at the age of 12. Never finding another real home Joanna is discovers that the cottage, by the lakes in Minnesota, that her family once owned are up for auction. She jumps at the chance to restart her life at the only place she was ever really happy. The only problem, the cottages are in extreme disrepair and she could use some help getting them back in shape.
Adam Dursky is a police officer struggling with a take down gone wrong, leaving his partner dead, a young boy killed by his gun and a bullet wound in his leg. Adam needs a break from his mental anguish and decides to help a buddy out. His buddy is Joanna's father, you see he's very ill and wants to make a mends with is estranged daughter before its to late.
When Adam approaches Joanna at the lake, she is complete against ever seeing her father again. Since its late and Adam is without transportation, Joanna offers Adam shelter for the night...Adam ends up taking on the handyman job to help Joanna.
This is a story of two emotionally wounded people working through their life issues and past while finding they may have more in common then they thought. Slow Burn is a nice HEA story and I'm giving it 3 Stars.
Together, these two books were a nice, enjoyable read averaging 3.5 stars.

You get two of Cindy Gerard's previously reviewed books in one with this release of When Somebody Loves You.
The first book is Temptation from the Past, which is January and Michael's story. January has recreated herself with a new name and is now an attorney who fights for women and children's rights. Michael is a journalist and wants to do a story on January after hearing her speach about her work with abused women and children. He doesn't remember her from 18 years ago, but January remembers him from the darkest time of her life and the past she wants to keep buried. Michael has a way of getting under her skin and making her want to open up though. I loved their story!
The second part of the book is Slow Burn and Adam and Joanna's story. Both Adam and Joanna have a past they are trying to get over and when they come together find love and passion together. Slow Burn was a good romance read.
Overall I liked both books and recommend them for romance lovers.
