Overview

At last, a book that explains Pagan spirituality to non-Pagans in a balanced, accessible way, while acknowledging the natural anxiety many of them may feel when confronted by a son, daughter, sibling, friend, or co-worker who suddenly proclaims, "I'm a Witch!" Wicca and Paganism are among the world's fastest growing religions. Because so many Wiccan newcomers are young, it may be understandably worrisome, even frightening, to many of the parents, other family members, friends, and associates of today's witches. This book offers an objective, honest introduction to this newly popular old religion, while providing comfort to worried readers. Non-Pagans will appreciate this fair and responsible overview of one of the most mysterious-and misunderstood-modern spiritual paths.

I am currently 19 years old, Wiccan, and I first saw this book online, so I got this book from a Library and I handed it to my mom and walked away. That was 2 years ago about 3 days before the winter solstice (Yule)... Her reaction after reading the book made me cry. She gave me a note, and she walked away... It said 'Happy Yule! Celebrate the winter solstice, I love you, -Mom' I'm currently trying to get my hands on a copy for my dad to read, I'll have to buy it though, because I suspect (being a strong mormon) he'll damage it. I love this book, and when I have a place of my own, my library (probably an office with a book shelf) will have at least 12 copies of it. (In case I lend it out and don't get it back)

I think that this book does a great job of providing non Neo-Pagans with a clear, easy to read and well laid out guide to understanding Wicca. What makes this book so unique is the fact that it isn't a "how to" guide for beginners. It provides a lot of interesting information tailored specifically to someone who just wants to learn more about Neo-Paganism. The way the book is laid out (with questions and short answers (one to two pages) grouped into chapters) makes it a very easy read. Both myself and a close friend of mine have enjoyed reading this book. I am an experienced Neo-Pagan and gave her this book (she didn¿t know very much about Neo-Paganism). I think this book is very worthwhile a great deal for such a low price. BB

It's easy to read, and for a quick general overview of the religion it is good knowledge to build upon or help understand the concepts
