    Another Great Gift Book

    Once again, Cecil Murphey has created a beautiful gift book entitled When Someone You Love No Longer Remembers. His brief stories, prayers, practical advice and encouragement for caregivers would be a comforting gift book for those who are taking care of loved ones who can no longer remember.     A Touching Title

    This book should be savored in small bites, pausing to reflect, discuss and seek healing. When Someone You Love No Longer Remembers will touch those who struggle with watching a loved one's memory fade, whether a spouse, parent or friend. Yet, it will also reassure them by bringing fellow sufferers into their world, letting them know they aren't alone. In addition to the moving vignettes, author Cec Murphey includes a series of tips that will help caregivers cope with their challenges. Those who work with patients suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia should buy this book by the case to present to families and others needing comfort and insights.

    This is an excellent resource for anyone who has a loved one with a disease that results in a fading memory

    What I really like about this book is that it has brief, but meaningful and inspirational snippets from various people of differing perspectives offering suggestions on how they cope with their loved one whose memory is fading. When a person is experiencing heartbreaking, depressing situations, the last thing they want to do is read a lengthy self help book, so this book is perfect. Cec Murphey has put When Someone You Love No Longer Remembers together beautifully and appropriately, providing just enough encouragement to help the reader face each day with their loved one. At the end, there are tips for the caregiver, such as how to take care of themselves, how to help visitors cope, and how to take care of their loved one in a manner that makes the day as non-stressful as possible. The book even goes a step further with the illustrations done in pastels and seascapes, having a calming effect on the reader. I would definitely recommend this book to someone dealing with Alzheimers or dementia in a loved one. It can be just the encouragement they need for such a bleak period in their life.

    Do You Know Someone Caregiving an Alzheimers Patient?

    Cecil Murphey has filled this gift book with twenty-four personal stories from caregivers helping a family member with Alzheimers. In compassionate ways, each one-or-two page story explains symptoms of this gradually debilitating disease. The stories inform readers of what to expect and how to survive as long-term caregivers. The author chose stories that reveal positive lessons from caregiving as well as how to deal with difficult areas of the disease.
    A few issues dealt with are: accepting that no cure exists, God's possible purposes in allowing this terrible disease, ways to calm an agitated sufferer, and how to help friends relate. Also, Murphey writes of caregiver's needs. Caring for a family member with Alzheimers can be seen as serving God Himself.
    This book is an easy-to-read, informative, beautifully designed and comforting gift for anyone who knows or is responsible for someone with Alzheimers.
    Frameable prints of the artwork by Michal Stark are available.
