More About This Book

Overview

Could a white family living in the South in the 1940's honor their Negro friends' last request by adopting their child after the parents are killed in a fiery automobile accident? And was this the child that was promised to Eunice Miller or was her out-of-body experience not really a visit to heaven after all, but only a dream? Experience the drama, suspense and humor of this wondrous and exciting wholesome family story which honors the triumph of the human spirit. When The Roses Bloom is a heartwarming adventure of love and faith that will make your heart sing praises to the Lord.

Alfred James Phillips crossed over the river bridge in Selma on that overcast day. He heard the echoes of barking dogs as they viciously tore into the flesh of those heroic marchers while others were trampled and beaten in the melee. He watched as the empty buses traveled the streets of Montgomery as steadfast riders refused to sit in the rear. And he witnessed the slaughter of innocent children as they sat in their church to pray. God help us all was his cry as he buried his white face in shame that day. And the Lord spoke to his heart for him to tell another story one day. A story of hope and love, to show a better way. Alfred James Phillips spent years honing his story telling skills as an 'information' author and marketer, a radio personality and an investment advisor. And now after years of incubation this fictional story is ready to be told. When The Roses Bloom is the first episode of that journey to help heal men's hearts.

    Great Realist/Fiction Book

The book 'WHEN THE ROSES BLOOM' is so real to life from past years and may even be that way yet today. When you get to reading, it is very hard to lay it down. It is interesting and a challenge to life situations. Keep up with the good work. Ann L. Allen Elmire, Mi.

What happens when the roses bloom?

When the roses bloom is an inspiring story of a frienship between a black and white family in the 1940's, and how their relationship grew to phenomenol heights. The wife of the white couple(Eunice) failed many times to bore a child which she was desperate to conceive. Afer her last failed attempt, she had a dream or premonition in which she was told she would receive this so wantd child when the roses bloomed. Their black friends were killed in a auto accident and from that occurrence it interesting how the story unravels. Read this story and you will find out what happens when the roses bloom. ' Love can build a bridge between races.'

    Okay!

This book has potential but was missing alot of Historical detail in regards of the racial atmosphere during that time.It lacked the emotional connections between the black man he considered such a good friend? Alot of details and feeling missing but a good first try!
