i've had my copy for 50 years, and it has my grandmother's inscription 'This is Nana's favorite' on Vespers. My kids all learned these poems, and now we give copies for baby shower gifts.

i remember my mom and dad reading this book to me and my sister over and over again throughout our childhood. it was our very favorite, and we would ask for it each and every night. i can still recite half the poems in the book. now i read them, with fond memories, to my two small grandkids. the drawings are still the same as i remember from all those years ago. a must-own bedtime book for every family!

This is the kind of book that introduces kids to poetry and makes them like it. They're easily read and easily understood, much like Dr. Seuss and Wonderful Stories from Skog Forest.

My mother read these poems to me. Now that I am a mother, I am reading them to my daughter. She loves the same ones I did. She particularly likes Halfway Down and sits on a step halfway down the stairs while we read it.
