Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
PreS-Gr 2-- Grandma tells her grandchildren that when she was a little girl she liked the same things they enjoy now. Connecting generations in this way is a fine thing to do, and children often enjoy hearing about the ``old days.'' The story, however, is told in awkward rhyme that is sometimes forced (``strange/same'') and has an uneven cadence. The illustrations are rich in details of the time period--``woody'' station wagons, chrome-and-formica countertops, pedestal sinks--and evoke nostalgia for those of us who can remember furniture-sized radios. In spite of some glitches in the text, this is still a nudge to make us wonder what memories we'll be sharing with our grandchildren. --Christine A. Moesch, Buffalo and Erie County Public Library, Buffalo, NY
