When Your Rope Breaks

( 1 )

Overview

"Where is God when it hurts so bad I can't go on?"

Using the Book of Job as his touchstone, Steve grapples honestly with the reality of pain in a fallen world. He asserts that when you are deeply distressed, you can become either bitter or better.

You will receive new hope and courage as you, like Job, learn how your tragedies can be redemptive opportunities to experience "the great depths of God's unconditional love."

The rope may be broken, but there is hope!

Steve Brown does an excellent job of taking the reader on a journey of understanding that is ok to admit when your rope is broken and offers insightful ways on how we can tie a knot and hold on.

What an incredible opportunity of self-discovery and understanding why we suffer. I loved the fact that as a Christian he pointed out that it is normal to ask questions and to even be angry. Excellent read!!!!

    Encouragement Personified!

I discovered this 1988 copywrite book in 1989 and it literally changed my life! I was going through a divorce at the time that I in no way wanted or desired and was in deep pain. The perspectives Stephen Brown shared in the pages of, When Your Rope Breaks, literally turned despair to hope and despondency to purpose and possibility. In the last 15 years I've passed on 15 to 20 books to others who have been hurting and many have been helped in a similar manner through a variety of difficulties. The faith-encouragement aspect of this book is priceless without question!
