Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Phyllis Kennemer
Celebrating the joy of giggling, jolly examples exhibit many reasons to laugh. The Golden Book format has remained much the same over the years. Fun filled water color illustrations feature a variety of animal characters interacting and laughing together. All dress and act like humans. Rabbit parents watch their daughter hula dance on the beach. A gray squirrel holds his son upside down. A lamb in dress up clothes frolics in front of a mirror. A fox father plays hide and seek with his youngster. A mama bear lets her cub splish and splash in the bathtub, and a doggy dad tosses his pup into the air. Other animals share snuggly kisses, make funny faces, chase butterflies and play in the sprinkler. In the last sequence, Father Pig ponders where giggles come from. He concludes that they come from deep inside the belly. A fun book for parents to share with young children. Reviewer: Phyllis Kennemer, Ph.D.

I bought this book for my granddaughter and can't wait to read it to her. The story is very cute with very sweet illustrations which is why I am rating it as 4 stars. I am dissapointed however, with the quality of the book. As a new grandma who grew up with Golden Books and who also read them to my children, their ability to be read and handled many times over without wear was amazing. I find the cover of this book rather flimsy, it's actually warped when you look at it sideways, and the pages stick out of the closed finished cover...sad to see.
