A lift-the-flap format invites toddlers to join in a game of hide-and-seek in Where Is Baby's Mommy? by Karen Katz. A child clad in red overalls leads a search for Mommy behind a green closet door and under a checked tablecloth in the kitchen before discovering her under a blanket in the bedroom. ( Apr.) Hide-and-seek is lots of fun and this baby is playing the game with his mother. He looks in the closet, behind a big overstuffed chair, under the table and finally under the covers on Mommy's bed, where the clever Mom has hidden and probably enjoyed a little rest. As the cute little boy lifts the flaps, he spies lots of his toys, beginning with his red wagon in the closet. While his adventure continues he adds the items found behind the flaps to his wagon. By the time he finds Mommy, his wagon is full. A board book that will be entertaining and fun for both caregiver and baby. 2001, Little Simon, $5.99. Ages 1 to 3. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot

Love the book! My 15 month old daughter loves all of the Karen Katz lift and fold books. The only negative with the book is my daughter can rip the lift and fold pages very easily. I'm sure that wouldn't be as much of an issue with an older toddler.

Once a child is introduced to hide-and-seek, he or she never stops playing, and this book can help make that happen.

My 25-month-old daughter enjoys this book. It makes her curious and makes her laugh. It's fun to find books like this that appeal to her; I hope it will lead her along the path to a lifelong love of reading.

My 22 month old daughter asks for this one to be read dozens of times every day. She absolutely loves to tell me what's behind the flaps before she lifts them. A great peek-a-boo type story.
