This book, so aptly named, is one of the best books I've ever read. Tamar & Lyrik are just like a bolt of lightning...electric! I was lucky enough to have read this amazing new book before the release and let me tell you, that's exactly what this is...AMAZING!!! It incited so many emotions, so much feeling as I read, I could hardly stand it!! I finished yesterday and still can't get it off my mind! I was struck by the intensity and the realness of the characters. The story so powerful and deep, it latched right onto my soul. I just loved it! I loved every single thing about this story—this series even! If you have not yet read the Bleeding Stars novels, I cannot stress enough how highly I recommend it. A Stone in the Sea & Drowning to Breathe are Sebastian and Shea's stories and Where Lightning Strikes is Lyrik & Tamar's. Even though this book can be read as a stand alone, you do not wanna miss those other 2 novels as they are just as wonderful as this one! I cannot wait for more Bleeding Stars novels! AL Jackson is an extremely talented author whose books are beautifully written. They convey deep emotion...excitement, joy, angst, passion and sorrow. They're intense and powerful, seductive and sweet, sometimes even sad—just the right mix to give you one heck of a ride. I'm a die-hard fan and have absolutely loved every single one of her books. But this series, especially this book, truly holds a special place in my heart.

A Review of Where Lightening Strikes by A.L. Jackson Heart wrenchingly, Breathtakingly, Heartbreaking Beautiful! - 5++++ stars Although I have purchased several of Ms. Jackson's books, this is the first one that I have had the time to read. I had seen lots of teasers for this book and I was hooked long before I had the chance to purchase it. For four years, Tamar has been running - from her past and the possibility of anyone getting close to her. Until Lyrik walked into her life a year ago and kept chasing her, no matter how many times she refused him and tried to keep her mask in place. Somehow, Lyrik "saw" her and wanted to help her get her life back. I knew there had to be something really bad in her past, but I was also glad that Ms. Jackson gave it to us in bits and pieces, instead of one big chunk. I'm not sure I could have handled it any other way. Then, there were all the things pointing to something painful in Lyric's past, but it was totally not what I thought it was going to be. I don't want to give any spoilers, so I will leave it at this. As others have said, this story...WILL...OWN...YOU! But, it is soooo worth the pain, tears and heartbreak that you will feel along the way. Please take the time to buy this book and read it. Just remember to have your tissues with you and hold on tight. Patchwork bear - you will understand. NYT Bestselling Author M. Leighton said it best: "Crackling with emotion and sizzling with passion, the tale of Lyric and Tamar is so electric, it will leave you happily satisfied, but still begging for more.” **Best Purchase!!!**

5 "Boom" Stars Perfection. I feel all light and airy and impassioned and emotional at the same time. A.L. Jackson just keeps getting better. Her writing is poetry in prose with a quiet intensity that grips you from the very first word and doesn't let up. Lyrik and Tamar's story is appropriately named as their journey is infused with sparks that burn between them until they were no longer able to be contained. Tamar and Lyrik have known each other for some time since their best friends Shea and Sebastian are married and living their dreams together. Now that the band is back in Savannah after their tour, Tamar is determined to keep ignoring Lyrik and his (she tells herself) unwanted advances. She's doing everything in her power to never repeat her past mistakes and Lyrik's hostile beauty is a danger she doesn't need. She's running from a past she wants to forget but the perilous look in Lyrik's eyes calls to her even as she tries to deny it. Lyrik purposefully lives up to the bad boy rock star image. He's got demons chasing him and he's dangerously close to succumbing to them. But there is something about Tamar that calls to him. He can get any girl he wants, usually two. But he finds himself chasing after Tamar even when one of his rules is that he doesn't care. He has his loyalty and that doesn't allow him to feel things especially about someone like Tamar who has the ability to rip him wide open. As Tamar and Lyrik start to cross every line they've ever created, their passion burns brightly but so does regret, shame and bitterness. Two people so broken by their pasts that they can't see a future are combustable. But when their hearts ignite, nothing is left contain the flames. Having adored Shea and Baz's story, I thought I knew Tamar and Lyrik but I was so wrong. There was so much more to these characters than I ever anticipated. My heart absolutely broke for the two of them both separately and together. As their pasts were slowly revealed I was honestly shocked by the turns their lives took. I have to admit I never in a million years would have guessed their secrets. A.L. Jackson did such a phenomenal job of opening up these characters that I felt everything they went through. I laughed with them. Swooned with them. Was angry with them. And loved with them. Even when my heart hurt, I trusted that Ms. Jackson wouldn't let me down and boy did she ever come through for me. The ending was beyond gorgeous. I love the boys of Sunder. Both Baz and Lyrik's stories have gipped my heart and become two of my favorite rock star stories. I am absolutely giddy for more. After Baz's story I was desperate for Austin's story (which is next--yippee!) but now I am almost delirious with want for Ash and Zee's story. The beauty of Where Lightning Strikes has just proved, once again, why A.L. Jackson is one of my very favorite authors. ARC provided by author for honest review.

*Random Book Stats* Writing Style: Dual POVs Series Type: a connected standalone rock star romance filled with emotional angst, sexual tension and good drama Cover: I love purple and black, so this cover automatically pleased my eyeballs. I like the pose the cover models are in as well. Chapter Heading Design: I liked the nice bold font style with the POV’s character name written in a different cursive style. I wish there had been a design symbol for breaks within a chapter. I got confused a couple of times when the scene switched and had to reread to figure out what was going on when the spacing wasn't obvious enough to indicate a change. Minor spoilers alert!!! It was an intense ride with these two characters. Tamar had been avoiding the temptation of her chemistry with rock star Lyrik for a while when this story began. Lyrik couldn’t resist the push and pull energy Tamar gave off even though he knew he should avoid tangling with her. She wasn’t one of a pair of groupies that he’d normally roll around with casually. ‘She was every single thing I’d had no clue I was going to need. My lips caressed her temple. “You’re so damned beautiful. So sexy. Wanna spend my life buried in you.” She giggled again, but this time it was a seductive sound. “What do you mean, want? Pretty sure you’re giving that a good go.” A soft chuckle rumbled from my chest. “Can you blame me?” Once they gave in to their chemistry, all their individual self protective walls were in danger of crumbling down. Of course, defensive actions kicked in with a vengeance, and I had several moments when I just wanted to shake one of them in sheer frustration. There were quite a few unexpected surprises unveiled as we learned more about what made Tamar hide out in Savannah and what caused Lyrik to become the callous manwhore he’d resigned himself to being. I’d like to think that a reformed manwhore could make the best lifelong mate because it was certainly more than time for Lyrik to stop punishing himself and embrace love again. And Tamar really deserved someone who could love and protect her after what she went through before arriving in Savannah. Luckily, these two were still young enough to have their best years ahead of them. Now they could experience them together. “I thought we had a time stamp. An ending. And it turned out you were just the beginning.” ~Tamar I really enjoyed secondary characters Charlie’s supportive encouragement and Ash’s more in your face role in Tamar and Lyrik’s love story as well. And it was great seeing Shea pregnant and happy in her marriage to Baz, the lead singer and guitarist of Sunder and Lyrik’s band mate. I’m looking forward to Austin’s story next, Through the Storm (Bleeding Stars #4), expected sometime later in 2016.

Loved, loved, loved this book. Tamar and Lyrik were electric. Both of them felt drawn to the other in an undeniable way that felt destined to either end in can't-get-that-grin-off-your-face happiness or angry misery. Happiness was something neither Tamar, nor Lyrik had experienced in years. Both were running from their pasts and A.L. Jackson did an amazing job at doling out information - enough to give me a guess at what happened, but not enough to give it away completely. I kept wanting to know more and I loved that. Each page worked toward revealing more of their vulnerabilities, their strengths, and their thoughts. They gave each other the strength to heal. Their relationship was beautiful and messy at times. Sometimes I wanted to smack Lyrik, but a lot of times he knew exactly what to say and it was perfect. I think I fell in love a little. As always, the side characters were amazing. Ash, especially, won me over. He was so charming and such a great speaker too. For fans of the previous books of the series, you'll be happy to know that Baz, Shea, and Kallie make some appearances as well. A great novel with big feels!

Where Lightning Strikes is the stand-alone, third book in AL Jackson's Bleeding Stars series. It can be read without first reading Stone in the Sea and Drowning to Breathe, but there will be a few moments, ones involving other characters, from which the backstory will be missing. If you want a full understanding of the group dynamics reading those books is a must. Plus, it's AL Jackson, you won't be disappointed. Lyrik and Tamar's strained dynamic had piqued my interest in the first two books; I was sure there was a shared past keeping them tied in such a battle. I was quite interested in finding out what could have possibly stirred such animosity and intensity between the two. I was quite surprised to find that I was completely off course in all of my assumptions. Pleasantly so, but taken aback, nonetheless. Both Lyrik and Tamar were profoundly damaged. Hearts broken beyond repair, souls crushed into oblivion, both hiding behind carefully constructed façades. The pain they both wore as armor seemed to be calling for the other; only someone else with unbearable scars can understand what it is like to live with them. I was undeniably moved to watch Tamar and Lyrik carefully traverse the minefield of the others pain. Thoughtfully and meticulously doing whatever they could to relieve one another of the burden of their pasts; even when they were resistant to the help being given. Where Lightning Strikes was a poignant story of redemption and rising above the chains of the past. Letting each reader feel the weight of the choices made, right or wrong, and experience the hurt one small decision can bear across the landscape of the future. It was also a window into how much one person can grow and change when they are faced with the person they are meant to be with. I'm infatuated with Lyrik and Tamar's story, with the nuances of their love, with the devastation they were able to rise above. AL Jackson has long been one of the best wordsmiths I know, and she did not disappoint with this story. Her ability to knock the breath straight out of my lungs is amazing. It keeps me coming back, time and again, for that soul-deep hurt and healing I love to feel when I get lost in a book.

Ever since I read my first A.L. Jackson book, I have been in love with her writing, her stories and her characters. She is one of my top favorite authors. This book was one of her best! I was completely consumed in the story of Lyrik and Tamar...I couldn't put it down! It was beautifully written, skillfully paced, an epic love story that beat all the odds to come out on the other side. She said we would fall in love with Lyrik and she was so RIGHT! His tortured soul cries out throughout the pages. You bleed for him, cry for him, cheer for him as he comes to terms with his feelings for Tamar. "You are everything I never expected. Never anticipated. Everything I never knew I'd need." The book follows the path of the title...like a storm it brews and churns building up to when the lightning strikes. You could hear the melody in the background throughout the story. "You sing my soul." It is a story of the long, hard road to forgiveness but so worth it in the end. "Let me end it with you." I loved every word and it goes on the 2016 favorites list! I would recommend this book, as well as, all of A.L. Jackson's books if you want books that will touch your heart and characters that will stay with you once you have finished.

Where do I begin with this review of Where Lightning Strikes? This book was absolutely amazing and beautifully written with so much passion. The emotions flowed from the pages. I could feel all the sorrow, pain, passion and joy. Lyrik and Tamar had an undeniable connection that neither one of them could deny. Two completely broken people hiding behind a mask that they put forward for the world to see to hide their fragmented hearts. I didn't think think I would be able to fall for anyone like I did Sebastian, but Lyrik is right there with him! He is the buzz before the strike! I will never be able to watch a thunderstorm without thinking about this amazing story! AL Jackson "you sing my soul!"
