The incredible story of struggle, redemption, and bounty hunting—which has catapulted Duane "Dog" Chapman into the hearts of millions, sparked a #1 rated television show, and inspired a #1 New York Times bestselling book—continues in Where Mercy Is Shown, Mercy Is Given.

"Who is going to give them the ride, Duane Who will give them the cigarette and who will give them 'the talk'"

When the preacher posed those questions to me, I realized he was right. If not me, then who Whether I had planned it or not, I was leading a backseat ministry, one ride at a time.
—from Where Mercy Is Shown, Mercy Is Given

Considered by many to be the world's greatest bounty hunter, Duane "Dog" Chapman has become famous for capturing fugitives on Dog the Bounty Hunter, his #1 rated show on A&E.

But his job doesn't end when he cuffs his man—or woman.

Having personally struggled against abuse, addition, and a life of crime, Dog knows a thing or two about the path that these fugitives cuffed in the back of his car are on—and he has a good idea of the bad news they'll find at the end of it. As someone who has succeeded in beating the odds and finding a way to live on the right side of the law, Dog also knows what the person in the backseat needs to hear in order to straighten out his or her life.

"This is your wake up call. You either answer it now, or pay for it later and for the rest of your life. You're being given another shot at things, but only if you take the risk to make the right decision. The choice is yours. What's it going to be, brotha"

While he is himself a mentor to many, Dog draws strength from the great teachers in his own life to face the surprising and difficult challenges that have come his way. Through hard work, unflinching faith, and the acknowledgment of his own flaws—along with the overwhelming desire to fix those flaws—Dog has been through the fire again and again, and come out the stronger for it.

Revealing, behind-the-scenes looks at Dog's most significant challenges, along with seat-of-your-pants accounts of his most breakneck bounty hunting stories, makes Where Mercy Is Shown, Mercy Is Given a must-read for any fan.

    Inspiring Book!!

I just got through reading this book, and let me tell you, Dog has been through H*** and back. I have never been so inspired by book, as I was with this one. He was given more chances than a cat with 9 lives. He definately is not one of your normal bounty hunters, he as compassion for some of the fugitives, because he has been there, done that. At least he trys to inspire them through his journey's of being a fugitive. He has compassion for them, and does everyting he can to help them to reform and start a new life. He never carries a gun, which he can't being an x felon, but he always gets his man!! I hope he writes more books. I never miss his show either. DOG KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, U ARE DEFINATELY A HERO!!

    Fantastic Book by The "DOG"

The latest book by Dog was very well written. He makes you feel that
you are part of the action and you do not want to put the book down.
When Dog was previously and wrongly taken off the A&E Network, I was
one of the people who wrote an email to A&E requesting that Dog, The
Bounty Hunter, program be reinstated on the A&E Network.

I feel that this book makes you feel a part of the action as does his
program on the A&E TV Network. I belive that Dog tells writes a good
story as well as anybody can and he should continue to write books, as
he is a great story teller.

Just finished "You can Run, but You Can't Hide" and &q

Just finished "You can Run, but You Can't Hide" and "Where Mercy is Shown, Mercy is Given". Both books on the life of Duane "Dog" Chapman. For those unfamiliar, Dog is a bounty hunter, with bases in Denver and Hawaii. He also has a reality TV show where the cameras follow his "family" on the "hunt". A & E carried the first six seasons and now CMT has picked them up. Both books were fantastic, rather you have seen the shows or not. Really made me appreciate his life and what he does for a living. He and his wife are catalysts in pushing for regulation for the industry, which I believe it needs. Great books!

A prime example of turning our life around loved it !

I loved this book, the only complaint is that it repeated itself a little with the first book. But if you never read his first one that doesn't matter. It is a very heartfelt and inspiring book. Everyone shoul read it.
