This book has proven to be an invaluable resource for my daughte

This book has proven to be an invaluable resource for my daughter (rising 5th grader) as we have spent significant quality time discussing geographical topics this summer. Because geography often receives minimal emphasis in schools in favor of Language Arts and Math, I felt it was important to broaden my daughter's exposure to geographical themes. In other words, broaden her knowledge of places beyond her town and state. This book is the perfect combination of text, graphs, and images that all expertly combine to inform and entertain. This book has sparked many conversations and has led to a highly enjoyable summer enhancement study plan for our family. I highly recommend to anyone, adult or child.

    So MUCH COOL information

When I first opened this book, I was disappointed by the maps--as most SEEMED similar and not "3D" or at least, illustrated beautifully as I assumed they would be. However, upon closer inspection, I am amazed at the wealth of information each of these maps contain. This book becomes addicting... you can learn where the most deadly creatures are in the world, where animals lived that are now extinct, and where endangered creatures currently live. AND so much more! My husband and I love it, and my children will, too, when they get a little older. (They are five and three.) If you are an elementary or middle school teacher, this is a must have for your class library, and more than likely, you can use it in your lessons for class. Love it!

    A good value!

I ordered this book for our grandsons based on the description of its contents. At first I was disappointed as it was hard to find the items described, for example "animals that glow in the dark", but my grandson loves the book. The book is bigger than I expected, a good value.
