    Highly Recommended

Before buying this book I did a little research. I visited the Authors website and read thru the reviews there. I then went to the web links her book had listed and read the reviews there. I followed up by visiting review blogs. I went thru all of this because this is not the genre I normally read yet it was recommended to me. I learned two things while researching. 1.) Many people felt this book and "Thanked" the Author for allowing them to read it. 2.) One individual spent many months leaving the same negative review everywhere. After finishing the book (a little over five hours) I was left with mixed emotions. It is intense. It is real. It is something I hope is never destroyed by beoming a movie. I have read it twice now. I bought a few more to give as gifts this coming Christmas. And yes I would seriously consider buying more of her work but this seems to be the only book so far.

One I will read again and again

This is the first novel published by Ann Marie. While it takes a little bit of reading to get hooked, you are hooked solidly. This one is worth the effort. Thank-you Nook for offering it.

    Just...WOW !!!

This one starts off slow, I think because of the prolouge. Once I was into the fourth chapter though I found I just could not put it down - four or five hours into it I really had to go to the bathroom but - and then next thing you know the sun was coming up and I was calling out of work because I never got any sleep - I simply could not put it down. It is more than just a girlfriend story. There is a shooting, rape, abuse, violence, kidnapping, etc. The story does take place during a 24 hour period but you relive both of the main characters lives during it. You learn how they became friends and what the magic glue is that keeps them friends even though I would have left Joe to dry. I cried, I really did. Then I found myself trying to read slower because I did not want it to end. Now I can't wait to start it again. A roller coaster ride would best fit the description of this book. That slow safe start. The top of that way to high climb. That massive drop at breakneck speed. The race at the end to get back in line. You can't be dissappointed by this one.

The story was well written, well thought out, and flowed smoothl

The story was well written, well thought out, and flowed smoothly as it gave us different characters' perspectives. The story and characters were awesome! It was the right amount of excitement, and intrigue. I loved it. And will recommend it.

Engaging characterizations, suspenseful story, and sharp writing, makes Where the Sun Sets novel feel fresh and exciting. Can't wait for the next novel from this writer, Ann Marie.

This is a very touching story. I enjoyed it very much. Antonia

This is a very touching story. I enjoyed it very much.

Antonia Dal Santo is a wonderful character. She is very loyal to her friend. In fact, I would say that Antonia sees Josephine as a sister. She has had a very tough life, but has retained her spirit. I loved this character, as she is very strong and protective.

Josephine Ferrero is a character that set my teeth on edge. She is not a bad person, but she is exceedingly self centred, and seems to have tunnel vision when she wants something. She is always wanting to be the centre of attention. When Antonia is hurt, Josephine has a sort of wake up call.

This is a most intriguing psychological thriller. These two characters are both sent to the same convent school at the age of seven and strike up a friendship that lasts for decades. This tale is told in a very short time frame, but there are several flash backs to their childhood. This gives the reader the opportunity to understand the dynamic between the two friends. This book is full of suspense and mystery, not to mention danger. I was completely hooked from the first page. However, I did find that I wanted to throttle Josephine for her blinkered outlook; Never mind living on another planet, I think she lived in a completely different universe! I don't know how this woman functioned! That being said, once the danger sank into her brain, she began to see the bigger picture and actually started acting like a human being. I actually began to like her. There are a few twists in this tale that I never saw coming. All in all, an entertaining read.

Ann Marie has written a tear jerker of a book that took me on a roller coaster ride of epic proportions. A word of warning: There are some scenes of sexual abuse. Therefore, I do not recommend this book to younger readers or those of a nervous disposition. However, I recommend this book if you love thrillers or suspense. - Lynn Worton

Disappointing, because I really wanted to like it.

I couldn't even finish this, I'm sorry to say.

Between physicians handing medical records to people without even knowing their names ("did you come in with the gunshot victim? OK" -- and the OK thing really got on my nerves, as people say "okay," not "ok"), nurses handing out pain pills willy-nilly without a prescription, no one in a school -- where teachers are mandatory reporters under the law -- reporting child abuse to the police (and the parent who learns about it and sees the injuries leaving his child in the school), and municipal police departments that apparently send home their *full dossiers* (which police departments do not keep) to live with retired officers at the end of their careers, I could not make it past the middle of chapter 8.

The characters are cardboard cut-outs and the action is completely unrealistic.

My rating profile skews pretty high, with an average of 4.35, and it takes a lot to get me to abandon a book. A lot of the problems that I've seen so far could have been resolved with a minimal amount of research into things like HIPAA laws and police procedures. How very unfortunate.
