Meet the Author

Encouraged to ‘go outside and play’ by long suffering wife Anita, David seized the opportunity to combine two of his passions, cycling and photography, to produce his first book, Where to Ride, Melbourne. Read an Excerpt

The Capital City Trail actually follows the south bank of the Yarra River through the city but this ride offers a slight variation by starting behind Federation Square and heading off through Birrarung Marr. For visitors to Melbourne who didn’t pack their bikes, just below the start point, at Federation Wharf on the river’s edge, is a bicycle hire shop that’s open seven days a week, weather permitting. The friendly owners will set you up and point you in the right direction.
