Overview

Book THREE in the Blueberry Springs series -- All STANDALONE novels from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jean Oram!

One nature guide. One accidental forest fire. And one steamy investigator hot on her tail.

Jen Kulak's good at running from her problems, so when she finds her best friend and boyfriend in bed together she burns rubber, never looking back. When Jen finds the quirky town of Blueberry Springs, she finally feels as though she's found a place she can call home, settle in, and get to know herself. With help from her boss, she rediscovers her love of nature and begins giving wilderness tours, which would be perfect if it weren’t for the fact that she may have accidentally just burned down the forest she depends upon for her fledgling business. And it would figure that Rob Raine, the man of her dreams, also happens to be the fire investigator hot on the case.

Can Jen find the strength to fight the accusations that could cost her everything? Or will she run again, ignoring the sparks that fly between her and Rob, and torching her chances at a happily ever after?

After trekking through six countries and teaching hundreds of people how to ski, she decided it was time to get a ‘real’ career and thus attended university. She wrote for the university's paper as an entertainment reporter where she enjoyed free movies and tickets to hot concerts and events (well, you know... for a small city). After graduating with distinction and a sociology degree, Jean quickly realized she had aimed herself straight for the fast-paced city life, a desk, nine-to-five, and high heels. Fearful for her sanity as well as the health of her wide feet, she slipped on flats and hid away in a high school library converting teenagers into readers, and enjoying her all-new favorite past time—buying thousands of books with other people’s money. Within years, she began writing her own novels. Champagne and Lemon Drops being her first published novel. When not writing, Jean likes to camp, hike, read, ski (both downhill and cross-country), and then... do some more writing. She also blogs with other great writers at www.FromTheWriteAngle.com as well as on her site www.jeanoram.com and www.thehelpfulwriter.com. She lives in Alberta, Canada with her husband, daughter, son, and like many other writers, two cats who fill her laptop fan with cat hair as well as a dog who always needs to go out, and two pet mice who are quite simply, cute.

Much better than first in series

The first book in the series was too slow and frustrating. I never really liked either of the characters. From the beginning, the characters were fun. Being best of friends made them enjoyable to read about. Glad I gave this one a chance.

Shallow bore of a read. Where is the romance, intimacy and sex?

Shallow bore of a read. Where is the romance, intimacy and sex? Pretty boring, my 12 year old niece laughed and said
it was too boring to go on reading

An adult romance novel without any sex at all? Not even one steamy kiss? It is like the old movies that fade to black.
No emotional or physical intimacy between the couple at all, they are more good buddies in junior high that lovers.
These so called lovers don't even touch each other, no holding hands, no hugs, cuddles, nothing.
Characters are cold, stand offish and about as deep as a shallow puddle.
I couldn't even get a 12 year old interested! I skimmed more than read this book. Not worth the free read.

    Really loved!

I really loved this story. I loved the long lasting friendship that blossoms into more and that Mandy gets over her fear! I would love the recipe for those brownies though. ;)
