So glad this series is continuing! I wrote to the author about a year ago and asked what happened to Whiskey Mattimoe. Nina Wright responded that she was looking for a new publisher in order to continue the series. This book picks up perfectly where WHISKEY WITH A TWIST leaves off, answering any lingering questions you might have had about what Whiskey is dealing with now. (No spoilers!) Of course Abra is still the star of the show. But now she has a female rival named after a movie star. Funny and fast paced. You will end up reading the whole series.
It's been three years since WHISKEY WITH A TWIST, the previous Whiskey Mattimoe book, but this one was worth waiting for. WHISKEY AND SODA reunites us with our favorite characters from the first five books and gives us a slew of laughs along the way. Personally, I love dog mysteries. There's no canine out there quite like Abra the Afghan hound, however. Over-sexed and under-supervised, she gets into trouble no other dog could pull off. Can you say four-legged felon? The perfect beach read.
I bought Whisky Straight up and now I want more of them. Which one is the first one and which comes next any suggestions? They would be helpful.
This series and this book in particular are guaranteed entertainment. Abra the Afghan hound finds new ways to wreak havoc with a little help from a French bulldog and a French poodle. There's even a French woman (a pet psychic) in this story. Good mystery, big laughs. Keep 'em coming, Nina Wright!
I highly recommend this book and this whole series! A big fan of dog fiction, I delight in the (mis)adventures of Abra the Afghan hound and the other canines in Magnet Springs, Michigan. The humans are pretty hilarious, too. This book gives you a chance to see that Whiskey Mattimoe is moving her life ahead and maybe--just maybe--beginning to understand how Abra thinks. You can read these books in any order, so pick one up and start reading. You'll soon want to read them all.
