Overview

She's brave, crazy, dangerous... and your best shot of crossing the galaxy alive.

Captain Shaen Morris may be certifiably insane. Her ship the Belle Starr may look like a rusty, lobster-shaped piece of junk. But for the right price, they'll get you off-world through the interdimensional portal known as "the Passage."

When a robot shows up with some unusual cargo, Shaen questions its motivations. When it refuses to power down for the trip, she questions whether it's worth the fare. Something appears in the deep to threaten them all, and it takes some fancy flying to get everyone out alive.

If you enjoy space westerns like Firefly, you'll like the Belle Starr chronicles.

Meet the Author

Hi, I’m Katina French, aka KatFrench: gen-x wife, mom, writer, web marketing nerd and follower of Christ.

I’ve been married for over twenty years(!) to my high school sweetheart. We live in southern Indiana near Louisville, KY with two amazingly creative, funny, opinionated kids.

Writing has been what I love doing most since I was five, and my vocation since I was 18. I’ve written everything from lullabies to radio commercials to technical specifications for military weapons simulators. I've written social content from the perspective of a brassiere, a beach, an automotive battery and a bottle of bourbon (yes, my marketing career has clearly been brought to you by the letter "B").

Right now, I'm returning to my first love, writing fiction. My specialty at the moment is steampunk retellings of classic fairy tales, but I also love contemporary fantasy and old-fashioned, unpretentious space opera. If you like fast-paced fantastical fiction with a sense of humor, give my stories a try.
