    An Excellent Overview

Canaanite Paganism is one of lesser-known paths to have evolved/reappeared in recent decades. Dawson's Whisper of Stone is the only book of which I am aware that focuses on that path. And it is a hefty tome, with lots and lots of endnotes. Dawson has done her homework; she thoroughly discusses and explores our surviving knowledge of the ancient Canaanites, while also being careful to show where she is extrapolating from neighboring cultures or inventing something entirely new (such as the Seven Components).

I can point to only two problems with the text: the excessive number of typos (another round of edits by the staff at O Books would have caught them) and the $40 price tag (which might scare away potential readers). Still, I highly recommend Whisper of Stone to anyone interested in the Canaanite path or other Middle Eastern Paganisms.
