What an emotionally gripping story. I love the protagonist strength. She endures much for the safety of her family and her sense of duty. She is denied her birthright but keeps her brother and sister's needs above her own. Her grandfather seems to have a plan to keep her hidden from the world to harness her power but only alienates her more. I'm thoroughly impressed with this series already. I hope the 3rd installment comes soon!

This book had me from the beginning. I loved the opening chapter. Lends me to anticipate more to with the series. Action, magic and romance. Love it all. Carrie J Haynes sweeps us into their tormented world, getting us to love them and want to protect them. I can't wait for the rest of the series!!!

I really liked the story line in this book. It kept up a good pace and left me wanting more. My only complaint would be the grammatical errors in the books. There were several times when I had to read a line multiple times to interpret it correctly. One thing that struck me all the way through both books was that I could visualize it playing on the big screen. I hope that someone picks up on that and makes a movie out of it or even a TV series. It definitely has the potential to be a good movie!!! There were a couple of romantic scenes in the book that were pretty detailed but as yet it was only the two parts. If that is something that bothers you just be warned. Otherwise, I definitely recommend giving it a read.

I think the story although filled with emotion is rather short. I guess when all the parts are writen it will equal a full book. So far i like it; but i find it annoying that the story is only 73 pages long andi would like more...

With lines like "Turstan erudited his family", page 42 it appears that this book was written in another language and then put through an on line translator with mixed results. The improper word usuage is very distracting to a good plot

Carrie James Haynes has potential to be next well known scifi/fantasy author. Her story contains interesting characters with unusual talents. It is well thought out and although not perfect demonstrates the possibility of some good stories coming in the future. I was interested enough to purchase the next installment of the story.

I like to read fantasy tales. This one definitively shows potential. Look forward to seeing what the rest of the series brings.

The story was entertaining and it was easy enough to follow what was gong on, but the book is in desperate need of editing. Grammatical errors were everywhere and the author used "in all" in every paragraph (sometimes twice) which was distracting. This could be edited & fleshed out into a terrific book.

I read the first part and thought it was an entertaining read. I then went to purchase Part 2, and it is nowhere to be found. Part 3 is available, but Part 2. Please help!
Star rating would be higher if Part 2 was available.

This is very good read, but I feel like either English was not the author's first language, or it was badly translated from another language. There were some sentences I could not understand at all.

Now the author had a good story line going. Characters were well thought out, but I just couldn't get past the crazy names and the odd gramatical way of spelling them... it was almost as if she looked online to see if this city name was used in another novel then tried to misspell it enough so that it could be used here in this case. Grammer! Oh good grief the sentance structure! I KEPT GOING BACK THROUGH AND TRIED TO FIGURE OUT HOW THE SENTANCE WAS ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO READ! Those of you who wrote this book was excellent, obviously haven't read well-written works.

Defintly a woman wrote this. The story is alright if you are a teenage girl. Seems this story is more about young hopeless girl in love. It would be a better story if it wasnt 3/4 of the mind of a teenage girl. Tthe writing is terrible. Before i read each page, i knew what was coming next. If you like romance novels, this book is perfect for you. If you like sword and sorcery, dont read this. Maybe a total of 5 pages of 242 has anything to do with action. Im sorry but it was terrible
