    Great review to a series!

What an emotionally gripping story. I love the protagonist strength. She endures much for the safety of her family and her sense of duty. She is denied her birthright but keeps her brother and sister's needs above her own. Her grandfather seems to have a plan to keep her hidden from the world to harness her power but only alienates her more. I'm thoroughly impressed with this series already. I hope the 3rd installment comes soon!

Lot's of potential but meeds more pages :)

I think the story although filled with emotion is rather short. I guess when all the parts are writen it will equal a full book. So far i like it; but i find it annoying that the story is only 73 pages long andi would like more...

    Good plot but needs editing

With lines like "Turstan erudited his family", page 42 it appears that this book was written in another language and then put through an on line translator with mixed results. The improper word usuage is very distracting to a good plot

    Awesome Book!

This book had me from the beginning. I loved the opening chapter. Lends me to anticipate more to with the series. Action, magic and romance. Love it all. Carrie J Haynes sweeps us into their tormented world, getting us to love them and want to protect them. I can't wait for the rest of the series!!!

Great Book!! Looking forward to the next installment!!!

I really liked the story line in this book. It kept up a good pace and left me wanting more. My only complaint would be the grammatical errors in the books. There were several times when I had to read a line multiple times to interpret it correctly. One thing that struck me all the way through both books was that I could visualize it playing on the big screen. I hope that someone picks up on that and makes a movie out of it or even a TV series. It definitely has the potential to be a good movie!!! There were a couple of romantic scenes in the book that were pretty detailed but as yet it was only the two parts. If that is something that bothers you just be warned. Otherwise, I definitely recommend giving it a read.

    Intriguing story from new author

Carrie James Haynes has potential to be next well known scifi/fantasy author. Her story contains interesting characters with unusual talents. It is well thought out and although not perfect demonstrates the possibility of some good stories coming in the future. I was interested enough to purchase the next installment of the story.

Read the whole series! I'm hooked and can't wait for the next one! Noticed on the author's blog that the series is a semi-finalist in a Sci-Fi/Fantasy book contest and can well understand why. I absolutely love the characters. It's so nice to have a strong female lead. The worlds Ms Haynes has created captivated me and the storyline is gripping. Highly recommend the series!

    Can you say "grammar?"

I guess the plot was okay, but I became so irritated at the grammar (or lack thereof,) that I gave up less than halfway through it.

This book reads like a translation from another language to English, with no attention to little things like the tenses of verbs.

I have no idea whether that was intentional but if it was,it was irritating and if it wasn't, the publisher is in serious need of a copy editor and/or proof reader.

    Good Story-Line

The story was entertaining and it was easy enough to follow what was gong on, but the book is in desperate need of editing. Grammatical errors were everywhere and the author used "in all" in every paragraph (sometimes twice) which was distracting. This could be edited & fleshed out into a terrific book.

    more from this reviewer

The story in and of itself is very good, but the book needs some

The story in and of itself is very good, but the book needs some major editing and polishing. Grammar errors, improper use of words etc. Some of the phrases used by the author are very repetitive, but I do look forward to reading the other stories in the series. The characters and plot are fantastic! The book has a lot of potential!

This book gripped me with the heirons plite and unfair treatment

This book gripped me with the heirons plite and unfair treatment from the beginning. I am waiting to the next to find out why she has been treated so poorly by her Grandfather the King!! Very intreging and an emotional rollercoaster.
