Meet the Author

Susan Gomez (Pen name S.Linn-Gomez) resides in Tucson, Arizona. Although having a career in Social Services for over 30 years, my real profession in life is to touch others hearts through the art of the written word. I am a mother of three, and grandmother of five. I grew up in Pueblo, Colorado, as close to Heaven as anyone can get, without getting there. Raised on a farm, coming from humble beginnings, taught me that humility, or how one sees oneself, is the beginning of knowledge of oneself. But seeing the Colorado sky, the desert in bloom and the Ocean deep, taught me there is someone larger than myself. I hope you will enjoy my book, and my future books to come, not all poetry, but all from my heart.

    Right in the Middle

    This book of poetry was a quick read and not bad. While there were repetitions of certain themes (drama/emotion) that I quickly got bored with, there were also some poems I enjoyed:
    - No Place Like Home had a vivid and strong beginning that was beautiful - it unfortunately didn't end as strong, but was still pleasant;
    - Ripples of Life flowed very naturally and had great imagery;
    - Missing the Meaning also had great imagery and connection throughout the poem, as well as a nice rhythm and a strong ending.

    Some poems were weak or overdone with emotion that either felt forced or just didn't tie in smoothly with other pieces of the poem, but throughout the book, I did highlight some really great lines that spoke to me and kind of inspired me to pick up my own pen again.
