Great book, don't let the price fool you.

At .99 I thought this was going to be one of those novella's, a quick read under 100 pages. I was very pleasantly surprised to find it was over 800 pages. I thought this book was very good. Donna Fletcher is a master at characterization. I loved how there were 3 main characters (I don't want to ruin the plot for anyone) and how they were each given their own personalities. She wrote the "ghost" aspect of it very well. The heroine was very believable. She was strong, independent and smart. The hero was complex, everything a historical romance figure should be. The plot was well written, involved but not so overly done that you couldn't follow along. This is definitely a keeper in my library.

    Favorite so far

"Whispers on the Wind" is by far my favorite nookbook from Donna Fletcher. I love not just the characters in this story, but the story itself; the way it plays out. Not your average predictable romance. Kept my interest and kept me guessing throughout. You won't be sorry.

This is truly a page turner!

I absolutely loved this book. It provided an excellent change for me as I normally enjoy paranormal romances packed with action and sarcasm. This novel was very interesting and in no way mimics what is so common on the market. While it may have started slow, it quickly picked up in pace and had me hooked. I found none of the leads frustrating. I was laughing out loud and stayed up all hours of the night to finish reading it. After I finished it, I went back through for a reread and even marked my favorite passages in my Nook. This book is just THAT good. Ms. Fletcher, I am a fan! You really know how to write balanced characters. I'm looking forward to reading more.

    Superb

Had all the qualities of a masterfully written live story where i laughed and i cried. This is the second book i have read by Ms Fletcher, the first being The Buccaneer that i would also recommend. I am already shopping for my next book by her.

Good mystery - not too complex but keeps your attention

Good series of characters and enough mystery to keep you guessing. Plot moves well and the mystery of the "ghost" adds a special dimension to the storyline. Good reading and flow.

    Surprisingly clever.

Much more clever than many romances. The was a more lengthy and thorough book than I expected for the .99 price. Definitely recommend this!

    Loved it!

What a great read! This book has mystery, drama, romance, and interesting twists. Sexy too, but not overly. The book moved along at a good pace, written very well, and easy to get caught up in the storyline. I recommend this book by D. Fletcher to all you romance lovers.

    Highly recommended

This is the first book I've read by this author and I really enjoyed it. The story line was well thought out and kept you guessing till the end. I've been looking for some new historical romance writers that write more than just fluff! Already downloaded several more of her books, can't wait to read them!!

    A Page Turner

If you like romance and mystery this book is the ticket. This is definitely a chic book. Steamy love scenes and a mystery that will hold your attention for over 800 pages. Frankly, the mystery held more appeal for me than the love scenes which can be a bit of a yawn after you have read several of this type of genre. Even though I had figured most of the mystery out about half way through the book there remained enough doubt that I had to get to the end. For only 99 cents this a a bargain but be warned its hard to put down.

    OMG what a good book

I'm not even through with it yet and I'm already saying OMG what a good book. It's so hard to keep from jumping forward to see what's going to happen next. It was worth every last little, little penny they are charging for it.
