Overview

From the introduction: This may be the first book you ever read about manners. It will tell you how to act when you are with other people - your own friends your age, or grown-ups - how to act at parties, at home, school, when you go out to dinner or to the theater, and to all the other interesting places you will be going as you grow older. It will tell you what to do and what to say to make people like you more and to make yourself more at ease at times when you might be nervous and unsure about what you are saying and doing. Good manners are simply polite, kind ways to behave with others. Manners are easy to learn, and they never change. They will be just the same when you are a teenager, or when you get to be a grown-up. We wrote this book for little girls (and their brothers) because we know from raising our own children just how important manners can be - not just when you are all dressed up wearing white gloves, but all the time.

At least I hope it is hilariously dated though anything goes nowadays. My mom had it on the bookshelf for years. She received it from my grandmother. Well my friends and I got a good laugh and thankful white gloves are not required to go out of the house anymore.
