Each president's state funeral is covered in detail, including the aftermath, the response of the family, the nation, and the world. The work also includes an appendix of laws concerning assaults on the president and office regulations for funerals, and photographs from the Library of Congress, presidential libraries, historical societies and the author's own collection.

I was totally engrossed in this book. It's a must read for anyone who loves non-fiction and US presidential history. Nowak finely details the deaths and funerals of these sitting presidents which took me back in time.....I could easily visualize the the moment. We also get a sense for how the nation was feeling at the time. Most of us can relate to the Kennedy assasination, but this book gives us a detailed glimpse into the deaths of the other 7 while in office. Highly recommended! Was this review helpful?
