Meet the Author

Frederick O'Brien (1869-1932) was an American journalist and traveler.  His travel books, written in the 1920s, were quite successful. His first, White Shadows in the South Seas (1919), was based on his experiences in the South Seas. In 1928 it was made into a film—the first to feature a prerecorded soundtrack.
