Overview

Jessica Andrews delivers an impressive sophomore album. Upon first listen, it's easy to recognize her very maturing talent. Her vocals are strong and convincing, her songs are snappy and infectious, and there's little sign of her being just 17 years of age. Producer for the second time around, Byron Gallimore (Jo Dee Messina, Tim McGraw) says "age is never an issue with her because of the depth in her voice." Truer words were never spoken. Everything from vocal delivery to production redefines what she gave listeners on 1999's Heart-Shaped World. Andrews' appealing new confidence comes through in just about all of the album's 12 songs, but the title track "Who I Am," "Every Time," "These Wings," and the vivacious "Never Had It So Good" make it worth setting the CD player for continuous play.

This CD is great!! If you're here, you've probably heard of ''Who I Am'' and the rest of the songs on the album are just as good.

Jessica Andrews is one of the only country singers, along with Faith Hill and Shania Twain, that I like. As a matter of fact, I love her! She has incredable lyrics and the music is awesome. Not to mention the fact that her voice is so powerful and amazingly mature for her age! Anyone would love her!

Who I am was the first song I ever hear by Jessica Andrews, so I went and brought the album, other good tunes are Everytime and Show me heaven, I also brought her Heart Shaped World album, and both are great cd's, she has and unbelievable voice..

Jessica Andrews and her pretty voice is definitely something to appreciate and the songs are standard and simple. Though most of the songs are love themed such as ¿Helplessly Hopelessly¿ and the cliché and almost Mariah Carey-like ¿These Wings¿, these songs perfectly capture a young girl with technical singing talent. If what appeals to you is the female voice, this CD would be perfect for you. However, if one is searching for wisdom and deeper emotional issues, infatuation-themed songs are the bulk of the album from opener ¿Now I Know¿ to closer ¿Show Me Heaven¿. Only in few moments like ¿Karma¿, where Andrews demonstrates some sort of life lesson in the most simplistic articulation and ¿Who I Am¿, an ode to the simple beauty of self-acceptance, will you get to hear an alternate theme. The music steers more pop than country. With the exception of a few fiddles, it is a polished adult contemporary affair. The music is comparable to Faith Hill¿s ¿Breathe¿.
