    Multifaceted Ingenuity

As an avid reader, I know that it is rare for an author to discuss such an array of serious topics without creating a jumbled, confusing mess or downright depressing me. However, this author has managed to touch upon a number of social and personal ills and dilemmas while maintaining a sense of reality, excitement, and compassion for each character. Every sentence, every character has meaning and purpose which artfully move the story along. The attention to detail is superb and the twists and turns are invigorating. The most disappointing part of this book was its final period because I didn't want it to end.

ONE OF THE MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BOOKS I HAVE READ THIS YEAR!!

Who Is He To You is a riveting tale that walks the reader right into the lives of Simone, Ryan, and Jessica. Simone is the seemingly jovial teen that has the perfect life on the outside but holds secrets that could wreak havoc on her family if revealed. Ryan is the rising star who is so caught up in the essence of being in love that she neglects herself. Jessica is the rags to riches trophy wife who will stop at nothing to keep up the illusion of a happy marriage.

The title and cover of this book piqued my interest, as the details within each chapter commanded my full attention and held it captive until the last page. Monique D. Mensah has penned a thrilling tale with the skill of a well versed veteran author. I highly recommend Who Is He To You and look forward to more from Monique D. Mensah. This author is well on her way to a long and successful writing career.

    This Too Shall Pass,

Three women are dealing with emotional turmoil and toxic relationships. Simone, a beautiful fourteen-year-old, is the victim of sexual abuse at the hands of the one person that should love and protect her - her father. Wishing daily that she'll die, she resorts to cutting herself.

Jessica is unhappily married. Her picture perfect marriage isn't what it used to be. Her once loving and doting husband is now cold and distant. Wishing daily that things will change, she keeps up the façade of a perfect life.

Ryan is in a relationship, but someone should tell her boyfriend that. The lies, missed dates, and arguments are increasing. Ryan is slipping deeper and deeper into an abyss of depressions and self medication. Wishing daily for a marriage proposal, she will do whatever it takes to keep her man, even at the cost of her sanity.

The women created by Monique Mensah are raw and real. Mensah does an excellent job of submerging readers into each character's plight, especially Simone, as she conveys the depths of the women's emotions. WHO IS HE TO YOU can be tough to read at times yet easy to believe. It delivers a poignant message.

WHO IS HE TO YOU is an impressive debut.

    AAMBCC Book Reviews

Who is He to you was an awesome beginning for Monique D. Mensah. When I say this author is talented you will underestimate just what I think until you actually read this book. It focuses around three women a young girl who is being molested by her father; a woman in love with a man who want give her a commitment, and a wife who has all the money in the world but her husband as a roaming eye. You will not believe how these women are connected. When I discovered the connection I screamed so loud in excitement and in awe that I disturbed my family. I really enjoyed this book because of Mensha's talent to draw you into a book and read between the lines. She created a story so good that you are hit with a BOOM so big that you never saw it coming. Would say this is one of the best books I read thus far. Absolutely! If Mensah can come back with another page turner like this she will absolutely be one of my favorite authors of all time. Now this is an up and coming author to know.

    Suspenseful Thriller

If you like an edge-of-your-seat, thrilling & captivating page turner, you will love "Who Is He To You". From the very beginning the novel sucks you in with it's detailed and descriptive storylines for each character, taking you on an emotional, but thrilling journey through the lives of each character. Just when you begin to wonder what will happen with Simone, Ryan, Jessica and their families, the story will take a turn that you never truly saw coming and from that moment on, you will not be able to put the book down. I had to fight the urge to skip ahead as some of the characters' stories would heat up and leave you hanging and thirsty for more! A great novel! PICK UP THIS BOOK, TODAY!

What a wonderful book! I couldn't put it down!

I finished the book last night. And can I say is WOW!!!!! I was up until 2:00am because I just couldn't put the book down. All I needed was a little peace and quiet (from Bear) and I got right through it. When I was ready to go to sleep and would say to myself "one more page," and before I knew it, it was all over.

I can definitely say that I did not expect or guess the outcome at the end, and the book was definitely a "page turner." Every chapter revealed more suspense until the climax! O-M-G!!! I'm still in shock.

I absolutely loved it and I can't wait to spread the word to other people about how great the book is!

    Yaaay Monique D. Mensah!

    I can relte

I cut. My reasoning for it though is when i feel that the physical pain is easier to bare than the emotional pain.

    A Page Turner

This book was awesome! Some parts will make you laugh and cry yell and shudder. Four individuals enduring their own pain but as their stories are told their stories intertwine. Some characters your heart really went out to and others you want to strangle. What an awesome read. Well done Ms. Mensah.

The thickened plot and the basket woven mingling of the characte

The thickened plot and the basket woven mingling of the characters is something I have never experienced before. Who is he to you gives 4 totally different views on the same person that is brutally honest no matter which point of view you are reading. This book had me sitting on the edge of my seat hanging from one word to the next, determined not to miss anything. I know there are countless reviews from years ago but I wanted to say that in 2012 this story is still relevant and fresh. This story hits women from so many different angles, each woman can see themselves at one point in this 700 page novel- whether they want to own up to it or not. Keeping up appearances takes a lot of work. It just makes you think..........

At the very beginning I struggled with the characters as the was told from everyones perspective...however when the tale started weaving together **gasps** what a damn mess!! Although the subject matters are disturbing at times, you were able to sympathize with the characters (even the ones you didn't want to). I am gladly going to purchase the rest of this series... Monique Mensah has a new fan!

Such a great book, love the idea that each story eventually ties into one another. It shows three strong woman who went through a lot, but finally over came their problems to reach peace in life.

Despite A Few Flaw An Enjoyable Read

For me the title Who Is He To You gave away the twist in the book (there is always the fact that I think there should be a question mark). Combine the title with other clues in the book, I knew the twist before I got to it. In fact, it frustrated me that Mensah waited so long for the big reveal, when everything fell into place. Then there were times when I wonder if the author was awry of the fact that the puzzle was so easy to piece together for me the reader and she did it intentionally. But either way, when the big reveal finally came out, I merely shrugged my shoulders. Kind of disappointed that she used the method that she did.

I have read plenty of reviews on this book and looked forward to reading it. I really wanted to get to know each of the characters and about their lives. Instead, I ended up finding out that all the characters were damaged. Not just slight imperfections, but truly emotionally, psychologically damaged. Each and everyone of them (mainly the main characters and most of the secondary characters). All of them needed counseling and probably a couple of prescriptions. It made it hard for me to root for any of them.

Even though I didn't like the characters I did like the story overall. I wanted to see what happened and how it played out. The last 200 "pages" went by quickly, the action really picked up and I was on the edge of my seat to see what happen next. It didn't quite play out like I thought it would. And Mensah did end up wrapping everything up with a little bow, but I think the whole mess ended the why that it should have.

I would recommend this book. Monique D. Mensah is a good story teller. I have a feeling that the next books in the series will be better and I am going to read them. From what I can gather the next one can be read as a standalone. I am interested to see what Mensah thinks of next.

    Decent Read

This was a good book but it took a long time for things to start coming together. Maybe Im just one of those readers where the book has to catch my attention on the first page..
