Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Carlee Hallman
Little Brown Bird wakes up to a beautiful morning and wants to know who made it so she can say, "Thank you." She goes about asking flowers, a cow, other birds, a rabbit, and a breeze. The breeze answers, "God, the maker of all the world, made this beautiful morning." Then Brown Bird wants to find God. She flies over fields and streams and flies higher and higher up mountains until she is frightened by an eagle. Brown Bird cries out, "Help me! Please, someone, help me!" The eagle goes away and the wind blows Brown Bird into a notch in a rock. There she goes to sleep and dreams that God holds her in God's hands. As she flies home, she realizes that God is always with her. When other birds ask her what God is like, she answers, "He's greater than the eagle and the storm, and he has brought me home." Then she sings a happy song of thanks. The bright watercolor pictures of birds and animals are too cutesy. Reviewer: Carlee Hallman
