Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
Feuding siblings take turns narrating this snappy account of the woes and joys of junior high. Ages 10-up. (Apr.)
Children's Literature - Dr. Judy Rowen
Twelve year old Megan and 14 year old Greg share a home and family origins, but that's not by their choice. The rivalry runs so deep they even have pet names for each other-he refers to her as "Megamouth," and he is "Grosso" to her. The story is told with separate chapters that alternate between the two combatants, both of who have problems outside the home as well. Greg has a terrible crush on a girl who moved 10 miles away, and Megan is sick of hearing about the new girl from California who wears green eyeshadow and silver sandals. Finally, a crisis makes them realize that having a sibling has its advantages. The book accurately depicts adolescent travails and the fierce battles that often erupt within otherwise loving families.

Who Put That Hair In My ToothBrush?

I was living in this VERY small town in the middle of Wyoming, and the only place to get books was a little Hastings, so we went there often, considering I feed off books. I would walk around, and around, and around until I just had to pick SOMETHING up. I ended up liking this book, though not my usual read and ever since I have been TRYING to be nicer to my little sister, though isn't working out well. This book is cute and will touch you as well as make you laugh. The ending was adorable and left me satisfied.

Definatly worth the time, money, and reading

I really liked it and kids all over the world would like it a lot. So I tell you that you should get this book. It's funny, exitible, and it's a lesson teacher. It has a little sad parts in it, but I guarantee your child will love it. It is really cool. I love it and I will show it to many friends and I hope you get your kids this book too because their life is NOT complete without this book, it is that good. I thought that it would be a good book for girls and boys because it is a story from both kids point of view. You can actully feel their feelings and imagine what they are doing in real life. It is a very good book to get your child reading. I promis you they will not stop reading and always have their nose in that book because I did. I really liked it and your kid will too. Trust this 11 year old, because she is telling the truth!!!

    jerry spinelli...or not?....

This book was okay 4 da 1st couple chapters. It then got partly boring... which is not like a jerry spinelli book. His books are usually funny with cool charactyers (sometimes inapropriatte) but his books r good. although this books remains w the same characteristics as a jerry spinelli book, it just didnt meet my jerry spinelli expectations. So now i wonder... is this really a jerry spinelli book??....

This was such a grat book! I thought I wouldn't like it because my mom picked it out for me. She thought since me and my brother always fight she would get this book for me. It's about these two siblings that hate each other. The oldest is a boy who is in 9th grade. Then there is the Megan who is in 6th grade. They both have there own ways. Then somethings bad happends and then they notice it's great to have a sibling.

    READ NOW !

I think this book was a really great entertaining funny book to read I think the author did A awesome job on it. Greg starts to realize that Megan (mega mouth) is dirty and that she really needs to clean her room before she does get cockroaches and other bugs in her room. But Megan (mega mouth) don¿t think her room is that dirty and needs to clean it. But other people tell her to like her brother mom and dad. Megan (mega mouth) blames a lot of things on her brothers and yells at them and asks why her dad don¿t believe her when she says these things on how her brothers are mean to her. Now About Greg he likes this girl but doesn¿t want to tell her right away but wants her to notice. He calls her up and sends her nice letters. He tells her best friend that he likes her best friend and she accepts it and doesn¿t tell him that her bestfriend has moved away. Greg does have a hard time and notices that he is having a hard time but other people don¿t realize it but him self. If you read this book there are many problems going on and it is very mysterious to find out what¿s got to happen next.

    A reviewer

Megin is your typical average tween, right? But Megin soon learns life is more than sibling rivalry, ice hockey, and doughnuts. Megin is one of Spinnelli's best female characters ever. I loved the way this book had comedy, family stuff, love, sports, and tragedy. it had so much emotion.

The Best Jerry Spinelli Book Ever!

I think this book has some serious and funny parts to it. Jerry Spinelli did a great job show the different perspectives if Greg (El Grosso) and Megin (Megamouth). The two siblings are like the Yankees and the Red Sox!!! Would it take a tragedy for you and your sibling to realize that you two actually care for each other? Well find out how Greg and Megin rivalry change in time in 'Who Put That Hair in My Toothbrush' and I'm 100% sure you enjoy it.

    One of the BEST

I think I read this book 20 million times in middle school and now that I'm a college student it's still just as funny as it was in seventh grade. There were times when my sides hurt from laughing so hard. The whole vomit-in-the-cider-vat thing gets me every time. READ IT!!! You won't regret it!

    Brilliantly delightful

This book was the foundation for my whole childhood. It was like a Bible to me. Megin and Greg are brilliant characters and their stories are inspiring and hilarious. The book's format is from both Meg's, and Greg's point of view so you get their different (and funny) points of view on the things that happen, which makes the story that much more enjoyable. I recommend this book, not only because it is a must read, but because it's uplifting.

A QUESTION THAT WILL KEEP US GUESSING

It's about a girl going through adolesence and has an older brother. One day she is taking a shower and gets out to brush her teeth and what do you know! There is actually a hair on her toothbrush. She doesn't know if the hair is from a monkey, a walabe, her dad, or even a stuffed giraffe. It turns out to be her little brother. What a suprise, thank you captain obvious! Well that's not what the whole book is about but that pretty much covers it.
