Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Illustrated by Nancy Harrison this simple biography of Academy Award winner Walt Disney will provide the reader with an overview of his life from his days as a boy in Marceline, Missouri, to his death in 1966. In school Disney often daydreamed, which did not endear him to his teachers, but he was always a hard worker and determined to succeed in the world of entertainment. Disney was a family man and enjoyed his children and grandchildren immensely. He was always looking ahead for a new way to entertain, which led to the construction of Disneyland and then Disney World. Epcot Center was another of his dreams that was completed after his death. A time line of Disney's life and a time line of the world from 1901 to 1966 are included, which provide a comparison of world events and how these events had an impact on Disney's life. A bibliography of resources about Disney and a list of some of Disney's movies are also included. Nancy Harrison's simple illustrations add details to the text. A valuable biography for younger readers. Reviewer: Naomi Williamson

    Who Was Walt Disney

I read this book a year or two ago, and it was the first who was biographies i read. I learned the most facts in this book than any other book in the series. This is one fact i learned:

When you first think of Walt Disney, you may think of how he created disney world in florida. Wrong! Walt Disney didn't make DISNEY WORLD, he created DISNEY LAND!

This was the only book in the series that the author wrote, so that is why this book is so different from the others. Walt Disney had an interesting life, so that ia why you should read this book. ~Danielle
