This work of nonfiction explores the lives of John, Paul, George, and Ringo, four young men from Liverpool who won over the world with their catchy lyrics and pop songs. The "Who Was" series, of which this book is a part, sets out to inform the reader about famous people and their contributions to the world. This book, in particular, provides a way for younger generations to see and understand the impact of one of the world's most influential bands. Since American youth are surrounded by pop culture icons like Britney Spears, it is important for them to understand who the first major popular culture icons were. With two of the four members of the band (George Harrison and John Lennon) no longer living, this easy-to-read narrative brings them to life on the page, offering young readers a glimpse into the world of Beatlemania.
