Whoa, Nelly! is the debut from Canadian singer Nelly Furtado, who delivers a striking blend of self-assured songwriting, world music rhythms, and radio-ready pop sheen. The precocious 21-year-old is a graduate of the Lilith Fair, but don't peg her as another earnest folkie.
