Overview

This excellent reference book goes through the characters of the Bible, in canonical order. Books are grouped as follows: the Pentateuch, history books, wisdom books, prophets, the Gospels, Acts, letters, and Revelation. Also, each character's name is listed as it appears in each book of the Bible. Major figures such as Abraham or Paul have a full two-page spread; minor figures may have a quarter page or a few lines, depending on how much is known about them. Bible references are supplied at the end of each entry. Designed as a ready resource for the whole family, where the Bible is quoted, Today's New International Version was used. The book includes various articles on groups of people featured in the Bible (the prophets, for example).
