This cookbook stuck a chord in me.

I found this cookbook to be delightful! It brought back so many memories of my childhood in New Orleans. I have been married to a man from St. Martinville, La, the home of Evangeline for 33 years. The stories that Marcelle weaves around her wonderful recipes have helped me to visualize how things were in Cajun country as they were growing up. I think all homes should have a copy of this cookbook, both for the memoir and the great recipes.

The best traditional Cajun recipes in print!

This book IS all Cajun in every sense. Most food people call 'Cajun' is not traditional at all, but only the great American fad food. This is the best book on the market for traditional Cajun food, fun, customs and history. A Must in any kitchen
