Lexie swore she would protect the child she carried—even though she wasn't really her mother

To give her friend David the child he'd dreamed of, Lexie had agreed to be a surrogate mother, but that was before she learned the truth about his wife….

Four years ago, when Lexie was pregnant and on the run, she found safety in the little town of Mill Creek, Montana. Since then she's had a good life, raising Sarah and immersing herself in the community, but never quite forgetting what she'd done.

Then David finds them and announces he wants his daughter back….

Whose Child is a lovely book that will make you laugh and cry. Heck, the characters in this book were so vivid that I had to question whether the author has ever been to Canada and met a couple of my relatives! :-) This is a story I strongly recommend!

I loved this book for so many reasons. The intrigue (that title is really apt!), the battle of the romance between Lexie & David, the spirit and joy of Sarah, the charm of the location, but most of all the writing. This is one of those books that simply takes you away as soon as you open the book. Don't plan on doing anything but finishing it once you open it. It was so much fun! I loved the Halloween dance, especially.

Lexie Jacobs ran from Erie, PA with very little cash, a great big secret and a baby in her belly. Four years later a man shows up in Mill Creek, Montana claiming the baby she gave birth to is his... Whose Child? asks the question, what makes a parent? Readers will travel an emotional journey with David and Lexie as they try to reconcile the past and find a way to make the future as bright as possible for little Sarah. Susan Gable's story is a page-turning, emotion-wringing journey of family...and love!
