Meet the Author

For forty years Yvonne Perry was enmeshed with the fundamental dogma of religion and lived according to the interpretation of the Bible that her family, society, and church leaders passed down to her. Before she had a label to put on her empathetic ability, she called herself an intercessor carrying the burdens of others to the throne of grace. While praying for others she empathically took on their suffering until it severely challenged her emotional and physical health. A graduate of American Institute of Holistic Theology, Yvonne holds a Bachelor of Science in Metaphysics.

    Good stuff

I was at a seminar by Yvonne earlier today and she has an amazing spirit and energy. As a highly sensitive person from a very young age, I understand how exhausting it is constantly being bombarded by other peoples emotions. For years I was plagued by depression, fear and anxiety, even when there was no valid reason for it. I have always been able to "read" what people were feeling. That gift has helped me greatly at times in my career, but the problem has always been figuring out how to turn it off and determining whether I was having valid concerns or just taking on someone elses energy. Yvonne is great at explaining all this and offers great advice on dealing with a world full of energy, both good and bad, and how we can avoid taking it on to ourselves. BTW, if you ever have the chance to see her, she is wonderful.

Set Healthy Boundaries without Losing Your Humanity

Whose Stuff is This by Yvonne Perry and Dr Caron Goode is a fresh look at one of the best qualities of our humanity-sensitivity. In my professional work as a coach, I have had so many clients who felt compassion and empathy for their fellow man so deeply it sometimes caused them physical, and always emotional, pain. This book offers sensible explanations for why this happens, as well as practical exercises to make life easier by learning how to set healthy boundaries without becoming cold or callous to the rest of the world. If you or anyone you know has ever suffered simply because they "feel too much", this book will provide you with not only the reassurance that you are not alone, but also a handbook of extensive resources and tips.
