Overview

The relationship between father and daughter almost defies description. Nurtured with love, the relationship strengthens and brings out the best in both, softening the rough edges of fathers and providing strength and security for their daughters. Why a Daughter Needs a Dad is one father's loving reflection upon what he brings - or hopes to bring - to his daughter's life. The warmth of hugs and laughter, the comfort of familiarity, the creation of a history from which both he and his daughter may draw - these things make up the warmhearted relationship he enjoys with his daughter and shares with readers in this sensitive and thoughtful book. Janet Lankford - Moran's photographs warmly illustrate many of the unique aspects of the ways fathers and daughters relate to one another.

The result is a book that will inspire fathers to embrace the irreplaceable role they play in their daughters' lives, to provide them with the love, nurture, and support they seek, and to enjoy the blessings that come back to them many times over.

The simple statements Lang puts forth carry with them the weight of an entire psychology textbook while demonstrating that even in the publishing world, less is more.

I flipped through this book in a store and immediately went home and ordered copies for both my son and son-in-law. I loved the sweet and true sentiments written within. Both of my guys were very touched by it.

My father gave this book to me before he died and it is one of the most amazing books that i have read. If you are not sure why your father loves you so much read this book. I didn't read it until after passed and when i read it i knew that he was still there. So if you ever want a good book that you will probably cry while your reading them read this book. There is one in here that says A daughter needs a dad to walk down the isle on her wedding day. I don't get that anymore. but i know he will be there. Very good book.

My parents gave me this book along with Why a Daughter Needs a Mom for my 20th birthday. Not only did the book itself make me cry, but the fact that my father took the time to read it and even write a personal inscription to go along with the photo that reminded him of us was so sweet. Anytime I am feeling down or alone I just pull out this book to remind myself that my dad is always there and will love me no matter what!

I gave this book to my daddy as a birthday present and he really enjoyed it. That is why I give it a 5. Previously I had seen the book, read a couple of pages and found it interesting.I showed it to my dad and he seemed to like it, from then on I knew that this book would make the perfect gift for my dad. Since him and my mom are seperated and I hardly get to see him so I wanted to give him something that I would enjoy giving to him and something that he would enjoy recieving. This book is really cool! My dad and I enjoyed it very much!

My wife bought this for me as we are expecting are first daughter together. I was emotional from the first page to the last just knowing what my little girl is going to expect from me when she arrives. This book also helped me understand my step daughter even more and become a better step dad for her as well.

I love this book. I bought it to give to my father on my wedding day. I cried the whole way through! It's going to be hard to wait that long to have him read it, but I know it will be worth it when I do!

I bought this book for my Dad for Christmas. We both had tears in our eyes as we read it together. Our relationship has been spotty at times but we're really coming together in my adult years. The author has put into words so many of the things that I have wanted to tell my Dad for many years but did know how to.

There is no emotion in any of these books. The pictures are nice but common and the one sentence that accompanies each picture sheds no insight and offers nothing in the way of emotion. It's stale, boring and uneventful.

This is a great book for all new Dads, they sometimes aren't sure how they fit into their daughter's lives, and this clearly illustrates how important they really are.

This book couldn't have said it any better. I have 2 girls 12 and 8 whom I don't get to see very much, because they live with their mom. I only see them every other weekend. But when I read this book it just gave me a warm feeling. I now know my purpose here on this earth. I love my girls dearly. I nearly cried when I read this. I recommend this to any father out there.

I was a daddy's girl growing up. Then when I turned 16, it all changed. My dad and I are growing closer again. Now that I am 27 and married and pregnant with our first child, I will definitely give this book to my husband, and also to my dad on his birthday. This book so simply captures everything pure and simple about the bond between a father and a daughter.

I could not get through without tears of joy, tears of hope, tears of reflection on what I share with my daughters and the hope that they know they are the focus of my life - this year I will be giving them each a copy as my fathers day gift to them, since from the day they were born they have been my fathers day gift every day for almost 28 years. It is true that daddy's little girls are daddy's little girls for ever
