This is not a "workbook" but it could easily be. The authors have many examples of the patterns that make it difficult for partners to understand each other and specific ways to overcome these patterns.
The patterns are generally fairly easy to identify in one's self and especially in one's partner. Some benefits can definitely be had from reading this alone and adjusting your behavior. It is also a very good book to share with your partner as there is nothing about the presentation of the patterns that assigns blame or judgement to the patterns. While the patterns do specifically relate to physical intimacy I found this to be very helpful as my partner and I have found books that purport to start there often are not helpful for us to get to the kind of understanding that we need in our relationship.
