School Library Journal - School Library JournalGr 3-5-The three ``Zs''-Justin Zechendorf, Jessica Zander, and Margaret Zachary-are determined to win the fourth-grade Good Deed Contest. But how? The only thing the partners have in common is their desire to beat the other kids in their class. Justin convinces the girls that he should be in charge because he is an ``idea man,'' but each of his zany schemes leads to hilarious and disastrous results. In the end, however, the Zs triumph-they help catch some car thieves and win the contest. Korman's book has a galloping plot that's full of humor, and young readers are sure to enjoy it.-Suzanne Hawley, Laurel Oak Elementary School, Naples, FL

My 10-year-old son has autism. It's really just a label these days, as he has defied the odds and proven that he is capable of being a straight A student when he tries hard. He also discovered that reading "Chapter Books" really can be fun. We read this out loud together in three days during Fall Break, and my Fourth Grader actually asked to continue reading rather than taking a break, because the plot was so entertaining. The plot twists were funny, and the blunders that the main character continued to make had us both in stitches with laughter. What a fun read. So far it has been a very hard book to beat.
