Lewis takes over where Silverstein left off!

Author Lewis recently spent three days in town reading his poetry to children in our local schools. His audience roared with laughter and begged for more. What a hit! Lewis writes just like a child thinks; the innocense and honesty are heart-warming and at the same time, simply hilarious. This book is the top-selling children's book in my bookstore. Give us more, Lewis!!

    For Children of All Ages!

I was drawn to this book (like flies to you know what) by the edgy title and the whimsically compelling black and white illustration on the cover. Once opened, the book doesn't disappoint, it delights. L.W. Lewis does not condescend to children in his writing, he winks at them and gives them credit for having well developed, if slightly askew, senses of humor. I gave my copy as a gift to a child who carries it with her and reads it to her mother in the car -- and they both laugh out loud at poems about agitated kitties, noodles-up-your-nose etiquette, and many other little childhood dramas involving guppies, boogers, puppy dog tails and tailess puppies. I'm getting another copy for myself and looking forward to more good work from L.W. Lewis.

interactive and fun for family reading

How to feel like a kid again? Read a story from Why Do Flies Eat Doggy Poop, by Leonard Lewis. I get a chuckle out of just saying the name! I pulled the book from the shelf and shared it with my three year old nephew who kept saying, read one more...pleeeaaasse. I shared a story with my mother-in-law, who is a retired teacher, she laughed at the lesson she knew a youngster would identify with. And I just giggled as I read my husband the story about Bobby. I enjoy the book thoroughly and recommend it highly to anyone for a gift, just because or even a learning tool for a classroom.

What a Wonderful Book for Children of All Ages!

From the first poem, I was hooked! I passed it around to friends at work and they all loved it, and laughed at the humorous poems. Even the people without children in the house wanted to know where to buy it. I tried to pick a favorite poem, but there were too many number ones on my list. The art work is very good, too.

    This is a great book!

Both my daughter (age 9) and I (age 36) loved this book. It is really funny. I enjoyed it and she says it's her 'best book'. Illustrations are also very good.

    wow!

I opened this book...looked at the pictures, and I was amazed! This inspiring youmg artist has come out of his shell at an early age. The artwork in this book is phenomenal. I highly recommend this book to any art connoisseur that appriciates modernism.
