Why I Care About Sharks is a wonderful and user-friendly analysis that persuades, entertains, saddens and enlightens the reader about one of the most misunderstood animals on the planet. Written for young and old alike, this book demystifies sharks and makes it shockingly clear that without intervention on a global scale, so called delicacies like ¿shark¿s fin soup¿ threaten to eradicate this magnificent creature and many others from what we once thought were limitless oceans. Whether to be used as an instrument for teaching, or just a reference guide for around the house this is a must have for anyone interested in life on this planet. Steve Maday teaches Middle School science at the International School Manila and is an avid SCUBA diver. Steve helped pilot this book as a teaching resource for his grade 6 students over a 10 week period in the spring of 2003.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. This is a great book for youngsters. It might well do more to help the next generation understand and appreciate the sea than any other book now on the market for young teens.
