    I Also Recommend:

Take the Oregon Trail to the land of WWW!

You don't have to be a cat lover to love this series of cat adventures. Each book from the series takes you to a different world -- from the Enchanted Forest in Book One, via Ancient Egypt and the rat infested Medieval Europe in Book Two, to the Oregon Trail and the Pioneers of America in this third book of the series. Not only each part is filled with adventure that will have your child want to read more and more, they are also filled with a lot of information about the worlds that the cats visit. In a way it is a world discovery package wrapped up with a colorful story line. The WWW in this third book connects the time of Wildly Wilde West with the present time of the internet and the World Wide Web. This is a great series of books and a perfect gift for any child. It should be a school compulsory reading. For more cat stories I highly recommend "Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World".

    A reviewer

I have read all three books form this series and Book 3 is the best one of all of them. Similar as the two previous books of the series, Book 3 is made up of two stories. In a sense you can perceive the first part (Wildly Wild West) as a parody of American wild western stories. The cats wear cowboy hats and guns, and they assumed Wild West names like Dead-Yet-Alive, Sitting Cat, CatBear, etc. The gang of cats found themselves in the small Wild West town. Like in any good western story there are some fights, shooting, etc. The cats joined forces with Wandering Sheriff and the quickest gunslinger of the west, Rusty-the-Persian, to defend the town form Wild McRat's Gang. The story is filled with all kinds of funny names like Don't-Give-a-Damn Lodge, Catfish Lake, Angry Cat Pass, Dead Mouse Point, etc. All in all it is a very light and fun reading. However, I see the most of the book value in its second part entitled 'Tail of the Oregon Trail'. In this part the cats joined a wagon train following the Oregon Trail. In between many adventures that keep the reading extremely interesting, Boszenna Nowiki was able to sneak-in a lot of great information about American history and geography. This makes the book a compulsory reading for all school kids. In that sense the book is a great companion to This makes the book a compulsory reading for all school kids. In that sense the book is a great companion to 'Our 50 States: A Family Adventure Across America' - another great book by Lynne Cheney.
