    Saved my life!

My family doctor recommended my mom read this book before putting me on Ritalin or something similar. I was 11 years old. I'm now almost 40 and continue to follow the diet - no artificial colors and flavors. The changes in my behavior were drastic...I was no longer extremely angry, extremely depressed or bouncing off the walls hyper. I continually recommend this book to anyone and everyone who talks about their child or someone else's child who is hyper or ADD/ADHD. It may not be what is wrong with everyone, but its probably the right diagnosis for many. I'm glad my mom chose to change my diet 'as hard as it was' before going straight to medication.

    From monster to ANGEL

My choice was ritalin or change the diet and add coffee. This book showed me how. My daughter went from a monster to an angel. Her own words in 2nd grade after we got it undercontrol was 'could I have a cup of coffee, I'm going to fast inside'. Her improvements were so great the teachers were rewarding her with chocolate which triggered her hyperstyle, because she was already on the new way of eating, any other time, she new the difference between calm/normal and uncontrollable/????. She was in the 2nd grade at the time, we lived up north, she came home and said her head hurt. It turned out the TEACHER pulled her hair so hard it still hurt when she got home. This book has answers. I wish someone would listen. My daughter is 22 years old now. And has given birth to a little girl, who even at birth I know she will be like her mother, there is one physical difference in these kids, and she was born with it. I've met quite a few kids on and off retalin, but have been diagnosed as ADD. I can spot one within minutes of meeting them (usually). If you doubt me, try this test. Follow the diet for two weeks, and have a 'tea time' (using coffee, sugar is ok, milk is ok) twice a day. At the end of two weeks sit with them and give them 4 or 5 maracheno cherries. Wait 40 minutes and your monster will return. It will start with glassy eyes, droopy eyes, just as if they were drugged or drunk. I could go on and on. Good Luck you will need it.
