Must have for beginner of wicca

I'm new to the path of wicca but I'm studying and reading daily, constantly learning. of the books I've read thus far this is probably my #2. Conway is great at helping to kick start your journey with easy to understand topics that cover all parts of wicca. She also has Study work you can do to better understand yourself and your path. Yes, it's like homework, but it's fun! A must have for any beginner wiccan.

    I like it

I bought this to complement my rather cunninghamheavy beginners Library and I have read maybe a fifth by now.

It is very well written and I like that the writer is not JUST a *whatever you like* person even though she stresses just like any otehr witch the importance of personal prefereences and going with them. Her tone is somewhat hostile when she discribes her attitude towards christianity and defends her rather godess focuss approach, but that makes it easier to 'read' her as she discloses 'where she stands. I find the book overall well structured and with very good starting points to being a solo practistioner (at least I hope so) I think her the perfect balance to my 70's Cunningham, which I really like too.

    The Best Beginners Book

This book is wonderful! I have about nine or more books about wicca and this one is my favorite. It is easy to understand and the rituals are beautiful. This book covers about everything. A must have!

One of the best books on Wicca I have read!

This book is a must for the Wiccan's library! The information is both comprehensive and understandable. If you are in need of a book that contains rituals both accurate and beautiful then this is a definite buy for you. I have read many books containing ritual formulas and never have I come across one with rituals so poetic, dramatic, and beautifully written. The rituals contained are fluid...poetry in motion. The ritual of self initiation is the primary example of this books profound love and reverence for the Goddess and the witch practicing. I cannot say enough good things about this work.

    A good starting point ...

Wicca: the Complete Craft by D.J. Conway. This book covers the basics of Wicca for beginners. Like Ellen Dugan's books, it's written in a friendly tone. The material is helpful, but I didn't like think the order it was presented in was the most logical. I also thought some of the material needed to be discussed a little more in depth, though for beginners or for research material, this book is a good starting point.

    Read sample not buying

I did like the sample. The author seemed to slander christianity although i am not a christian) to much and it felt like she poped in her personal opinion often felt to negative for my liking. Wicca is fun but requires work like any thing if something it torcher then its not the right path. I agree with what others say that didnt give thw book many stars. Read the spiral dance by starhawk many good pagan sites rate it well.
