Join in the Real Wiccan Celebration!

Wicca Celebrations is truly inspirational! - it is comprehensive and educational covering Wicca and Neo Pagan practices and beliefs.

Wiccan Celebrations is a compilation of the Eight Seasonal Rights known as the Wheel of the Year; the Sabbats and the Four Quarter Moon Phases; the Esbats. It also contains Silver Elder's own version of the famous Wiccan sacred text used at the full Moon rite called the 'Charge of the Goddess', stating that hers is based on the original classic contained in the book: 'Aradia or the Gospel of the Witches' by Charles Godfrey Leland, translated by Mario and Dina Pazzaglini. Currently, 'The Charge' relates only to the Goddess in Her aspect as the Great Mother, celebrated at Full Moon Esbats but Silver Elder has added three new charges; one for each Moon phase. While she has re-written the classic for the Full Moon Esbat called the 'Charge of the Great Mother' she offers the new 'Charge of the Maiden-Mother' for the First Quarter Waxing, the 'Crone Charge' for the Third Quarter Waning and the 'Charge of the Enchantress' for the Dark/New Moon phase. In this way, the Esbat celebrations are consistent with real astronomical phases of the Moon reflecting the Four phases or aspects of the Goddess as manifest in our earthly lives.
Silver Elder has designed and written all the rites and rituals in the book for easy memory and rhythmic beat using rhyming couplets in a lyrical and flowing form corresponding to the ebb and flow of natures cycle. She presents rites and rituals complete and ready for use for all Sabbats and Esbats giving details regarding the use of colors and decoration relevant to the celebration. She explains how almost every act, spoken word, tool used is an analogy to a natural process whereby Wiccan Celebration is a language based on symbolism and metaphor. Silver Elder explains that this is the Magickal aspect of Wicca through which we align ourselves through empathy and sympathy with prevailing energies to heighten, transmute or strengthen energy flows to make manifest wishes and goals.
A brief introduction to the book explains Wiccan ethics, beliefs and morals such as the Three Fold Law, the Wiccan Rede and the non-existence of evil in the Christian concept

Silver Elder explains Nature as Mother Earth, the Cosmos or the Sun represented by the God or Goddess for the Seasonal Cycle festivals, the Sabbats.

Nature is the Great Teacher with its cycles and energies symbolically reflecting the deep psychological processes taking place within us. The Lunar and Seasonal cycles are synonymous for our inner natural drive for peace and contemplation during the waning year and action during the light and waxing year.

She also draws parallels with the cosmologies of other religions, e.g.: the Tree of Life in Jewish mysticism.

Wiccan Celebrations is richly illustrated by Silver Elders own pen and ink line drawings elucidating abstract principles explained in the text.

Wiccan Celebrations is indeed the definitive and comprehensive guide to the Wiccan Experience!

Wiccan Celebrations- based on Experience and Insight!

Wiccan Celebrations is THE comprehensive guide to Pagan Rites and Rituals!. This book gives fully detailed and worked out rituals for all the major seasonal festivals such as the Sabbats {Equinoxes, Solstices and Cross-Quarter days} and the Moon phase meetings; the Esbats, held every Lunar Quarter - it also includes a short course about Wicca; the 'introduction'- great for a teaching Coven or Grove. The 'course' explains key beliefs and practices, introducing the true meaning of Wicca with its way of life of celebrating the Earth as it sustains us in every way through the food we eat to the air we breathe, to the rain we drink, to the heat that keeps us warm and fed.

In Wiccan Celebrations, Silver Elder introduces us to the fundamentals and mystique in Wicca, one of the fastest growing religions in the world. One of its main atractions is its freedom of expression allowing for a personal intepretation and relationship to deity, cosmic and earth energies; its essence as a nature based mystery religion with no dogma.

Silver Elder is one of the greatest Pagan liturgy writers of our time! -Wiccan celebrations presents us the the true mysticism of Wicca as an earth based spirituality to which we can all respond to feel that close affinity in our deepest unconscious as it is the spirituality of our ancestors.

Wiccan Celebrations is a powerfull yet compassionate and sensitive liturgy, written in prose and verse for true meaningfull ritual and experience.

Wiccan Celebrations is also richly illustrated by Silver Elder, making complex and abstract concepts clear and easily accessible.

I highly recommend this book for all levels of Pagan/ Wiccan practice. It is excellently suited for a teaching coven but is also great to have on hand for ready made designed rituals to be performed at the drop of a hat. The meditations that are part of each Esbat or sabbat are wonderful for any nature inspired meditation to lead you to your integrated self, your Higher Self and to Mother nature, the Goddess.

Wiccan Celebrations is a well designed work; - well researched and well practiced, based on thorough experience. It is a true resource work for not only the Pagan/Wiccan community but any inspired meditation group.
