Meet the Author

Anya Bast lives in the country with her Belgian husband, their tornado toddler of a daughter, and more cats, dogs, and rabbits than is sane. Ever since she was a little girl, Anya has told stories (much to her mother's dismay). She's happy to finally be making a career out of it. A native of one of the colder states, she loves to ice skate and watch hockey. She has fascination for crows, ravens and birds of prey. She enjoys the study of Eastern philosophy, Celtic myth, dreaming, and shamanism and occasionally incorporates what she learns into her paranormal stories. She works part time as a data base editor and French translator.

    superb romantic fantasy

The Seelie Summer Queen Caoilainn Muirgheal orders Aislinn Finvarra to serve as guide to Unseelie visitor, half-incubus Gabriel Mac Braire. The High Royal makes it clear to the unhappy Aislinn that Gabriel is to get the royal treatment as the Seelie queen mulls over granting him the asylum he has requested after he defected from the dark court.

Aislinn distrusts Gabriel whom she believes has a secret agenda and who oozes sexual appeal every moment. She is also worried that he or others at court will realize she has Unseelie blood as her dark magick skills grow. However, worried about her Fae people caught between the Unseelie, the Phaendir Druids and the humans, Aislinn risks her life to find the three ancient bosca fadh artifacts that together make up the legendary Book of Bindings; the key to the Fae's freedom.

Wicked Enchantment is a superb romantic fantasy starring a brave heroine whose bloodline is not totally Seelie pure and an Unseelie whose bloodline is too pure with the Dark Magick. Their relationship is filled with distrust and attraction that surprises him but not her as he is a half incubus. With a terrific late twist, sub-genre fans will relish this wickedly enchanting thriller

    Confusing and hard to read

This book was weighed down with odd names and explanations and seemed to go on and on. I found myself skimming instead of reading so I could be done with it sooner. I would not recommend this book.

    Nice escape novel

Wicked Enchantment by Anya Bast was actually pretty good. I enjoyed the plot. The leading man and lady were original, and the intimate scenes were well-written. The secondary characters didn't seem real, and the ending makes me think this should be a stand-alone book, but apparently there's a sequel. I might get the sequel. Overall, this is a nice book for a rainy day.

    Kept me turning the pages

Loved this story. Ms. Bast keeps you turning the pages. As soon as I finished it, I immediately downloaded the second book.

    I loved this book

This book had me hooked from page one. Not only does it have a wonderful romance between a hero and a heroine with great chemistry, it has an unpredictable plot with lots of twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's a great addition to the paranormal romance genre.

The plot in a nutshell (without giving too much away). Aislinn Fivarra is Seelie, but she's keeping a dark secret that could destroy her and her family's life.

Gabriel Mac Braire is an Unseelie helf-incubus who comes to the Seelie Court seeking to defect. Aislinn is ordered to be his guide while the Seelie Queen decides whether or not to accept him. Aislinn hates this because, even though Gabriel seems to charm every woman in the Seelie Court, he doesn't charm her. She's just out of a relationship with a man who was a lot like Gabriel and she's not interested in more of the same.

However Gabriel's true reason for being at the Seelie Court is not so innocent. His kind has ordered him to use his incubusness to lure Aislinn to the Unseelie Court.

When Gabriel finally manages to achieve his goal, all hell breaks loose for both of them. Aislinn is put in terrible danger. And by this time Gabriel has come to have feelings for her and regrets the part he played in her downfall. He'll stop at nothing to fix the mistake he's made.

As with all of Anya Bast's novels, the heroine really finds her power and comes into her own by the end of the book. And, like all of Bast's heroes, Gabriel is dark, dangerous and completely irresistible.

This book is a fast-paced, exhilarating ride and I highly recommend it.
