    I Also Recommend:

    Erotic romance at its best...

Wicked Ties is the book that started it all for me. Well, at least got me started reading erotic romance. Jack Cole is ultimate fantasy fodder and my favorite Dominant/alpha hero. Its also the first book in the Wicked Lovers series.
Morgan meets Jack through a contact at work, and arranges to meet him in hopes of getting him to be a guest on her talk show "Turned On". He's a well-known Dominant, and although she doesn't want to be - she can't help being intrigued and more than a little excited. Unfortunately, she has a pretty serious stalker who is determined that if he can't have her, no one will. So Jack comes through as her hero, saves her from getting shot, and takes her somewhere that her stalker will never find her.
Jack is out for revenge - and Morgan is the perfect tool. He's got it all planned out, except the part where he's not only attracted to Morgan, but actually LIKES her. The shootout with the stalker just makes his plan that much easier, while giving him unlimited access to Morgan night and day. And Jack is no fool - he's not going to let this opportunity pass him by. He plans to show Morgan just what it means to submit to a "master". But along the way, both Jack's and Morgan's plans get messed up by something they never saw coming - love.
Wicked Ties is my idea of the perfect contemporary erotic romance. All the elements fit together to create a story that you can't put down. Shayla Black is without a doubt the master (mistress? lol) of erotic, emotionally intense love scenes. The sexual tension had my heart pounding, the pacing is just right, and the dialog is fabulous. The banter between these two, and between Jack and his partner Deke, is hilarious. And let me just say - no one can talk dirty like Jack Cole. His sexy Cajun drawl just makes it that much better.
Shayla Black does emotion like no one else, and all the little details just work together seamlessly. I LOVE to read, and this is one of my favorite genres, but if I was stranded on a desert island and could have only one erotic romance - this would be it.

    Boring

The book is very slow, sex, not bad, but for ten bucks this book is not worth it!

    Read it!

Loved this book. I dont understand the many comaprisons to Fifty Shades...because those books weren't really BDSM, these books have more of that in it, but I thought the writing in this book was better. I wish there was a book 2 for Jack and Morgan!! Loved them!!

my only complaints are that 1) it's over and 2) the ending was a little quick...and maybe a little cheesy?? either way, the book was awesome, i read it in a day, and I'd recommend it to anyone over the Fifty Shades books.

    more from this reviewer

    fabulous erotic romantic suspense thriller

Los Angeles based cable TV host Morgan O¿Malley researches her subjects that she explores on her show ¿Turn Me On¿, which means she gets quite a head full of sex education as sex is the theme of her show. Her next program involves the BDSM scene in which she has answered an ad from a Master J who explains that the relationship between a dominant and a submissive requires much more trust than missionaries need. Since she also has a stalker bothering her, Morgan agrees to meet with Master J in his Louisiana territory. --- However, her efforts to elude her assailant fail when someone shoots at her with Master J witnessing the incident. He goes into his day job mode as Jack Cole, professional bodyguard though the enemy seems to know every step she takes. As he teaches her to surrender her desires to him, he vows to keep her safe because he makes her WICKED TIES fantasies real and by doing that she reciprocates. --- Though he being a bodyguard provides him an edge against the enemy that most people will not have, this is a fabulous erotic romantic suspense thriller. The bondage and related DS sex scenes are torrid (those WICKED TIES are hot), but also enhance the plot of two people falling in love while a third party stalks them. Whether he is Master J or Jack, he is a dominant who believes he has found his submissive soulmate in Morgan. She becomes more than just a willing student as she trusts her body and soul with her mentor. Filled with twists Shayla Black turns up the heat in the boudoir without neglecting the suspense. --- Harriet Klausner

    Yum...

I love this author! Her characters are strong, masculine, powerful, funny and full of sexual charisma. I will probably end up reading all her books...two, three times! She got wonderful description, fabulous one-liners and perfect metaphores going on!

Jack Cole is definitely fantasy on paper...and I mean "YUM" when I say it. Deke, his partner, is hilarious and sexy as all-get-out. Brandon, the finace'/brother, even made me flinch with desire for him when he came barging in in the end.

If I had to find something to fix (and it would only be a 10% of the book fix - cause the rest is great), is that we hear the characters same thoughts and concerns, a little too much. It changes a little bit as it goes, but the premise is the same. She's nervous & curious, and he's willing but with a secret...I get it. :O)

Get this series...and start with Wicked Ties...you'll be EROTIC that you did!

    Good Writing and More

This was my first book by this author. Her writing was good and the story was solid with detailed characters. Add that to the great sex scenes and you've got a great buy. I'll read this author again.

    Awful All Around

I don't usually write reviews, but this book was so bad that I had to. The writing was awful. The love scenes were tedious and drawn out to the point where you just wanted them to get it over with. The plot was utterly ridiculous and contrived. Not to mention the repetition: Morgan doesn't want to like it; Jack is out for revenge but now he's in love. And an 82 year old Catholic grandfather buying lingerie for a 25 year old...puleez... Don't waste your money. I'd give it no stars if I could.

    Highly Recommended

I loved this book, it really had a story line that kept me wanting to read more. I loved all the books in the series. The story is well written and i felt like i got to know the characters in the book. I wanted them to get the bad guy and have a happy ever after. I even laughed at the humor through out the book. I Highly Recommend this book and the entire series. A very great read.

The writer wrote about people afraid to try sex that theyd normally be afraid of because of society. Not everything is for everybody. Niclelt written.
