Loved this fresh take on urban vigilantes and secret other-worldly protectors. Really well written, solid world-building and great descriptions of characters, feelings, POV, lore and sex! And OMG, the NYMPHS! You will not forget the scene of the Wood Nymph's version of "dinner theater" anytime soon! Sexy hot!

~ 3.5 Wicked Wind Stars ~ Wicked Wind is book one in the Solsti Prophecy series by Sharon Kay. It’s a satisfactory start to the series. With kick ass chicks, bad boy demons, and a battle between good and evil. Nicole is a unique women with a very special gift. She uses her gift to look out for others as well as her sisters. She has never fully understood her “talent”, but a chance meeting will change her and her sisters lives forever. Gunner our sex bad boy demon crosses path with an usual women and knew there was something different about her. He is determined to find out more. As the plot deepens Nicole discovers her true nature and her life’s purpose is revealed. She finds her self in a world she never knew excited and must learn to harness her power and navigate this world before something very bad comes. Within the story we also have a romance that is blazing. Nicole and Gunner have an instant attraction that builds to astronomical levels with each encounter. The author has created a unique and interesting world. We get an adequate amount of world building to help us get into the story. The concept created is intriguing, because the author has taken the good versus evil to a whole new level. We also get a verity of paranormal creatures, some that are new and fresh. Their is no shortage of action, surprises, hot sexy scenes, heart break, potential romances as well as past loves lost that maybe rekindled. Wicked Wind has peeked my interest and I am intrigued to see where things develop with these hardcore Alpha males and the women who claim their hearts as the battle to save the races continues.

I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. They thought they had their lives all figured out; boy were they wrong. Nicole, Brooke and Gin are orphaned sisters. They each have a special ability; Nicole can manipulate air, Brooke manipulates water, and Gin manipulates fire. Wicked Wind is book one of the Solsti Prophecy series, and Nichole is the main focus of this novel. Nichole is an attorney by day and vigilante by night. Having trained and honed her special talent as best she could, she and her sister, Brooke, spend their evenings in the worst parts of town, rescuing the innocent from drug dealers, muggers, rapists, and the like. She gave up on having any lasting romantic relationships; how would she explain her special talent? That is, until she meets a very sexy Lash Demon named Gunnar. Yes, even his name screams hot! He aids her in finding out who she and her sisters really are. There attraction is instantly steamy, will Nichole allow herself to fall in love? Will she be able to accept who she really is and live up to the expectations implied by the prophecy? This was an awesome fantasy novel with lots of romance and sexy men to keep you reading. I loved Nichole and Gunnar’s journey through the demon realm. While there, they meet sprites, nymphs, and a variety of demons that are very aggressive and far from friendly. The chemistry between Gunnar and Nichole is amazing, and his desire to protect her is unreal. The story was very fast paced, with edge of your seat excitement. I can’t wait to read book two to find out what happens next.

OK I have to say I Loved this book. It was amazing. The first book in the series explains there is a second realm that exists besides Earth. Demons and creatures cross over to earth. A group of very hot looking men, which happen to really be demons (yes without horns and colored skin), called the Watchers are in Chicago tracking down and getting rid creatures that are attacking low life citizens for their blood. One night as Gunnar is prowling the streets he spots Nicole. A woman that thinks she's a regular human but with a special gift to manipulate air. He tells her there's something more to her, she's not human. All her life she's wanted to know why she has this gift and she wants to learn how to use it so she agrees to meet with his Elder who can tell her what she is. She finds out she's a Solsti, one of four that only appear when needed to fight against a terrible evil that will affect everyone. The bulk of the story takes place in Torth the demon realm. Nicole and Gunnar's relationship grows and wow is it hot for a first book. I love the way the world for the series is written. There are a lot of action scenes that are really well written not going over board with technical descriptions. I can't wait to read more from this author.

Demons need love, too, right? Especially if they spend their eternity fighting demonic crime, as Lash Demons do. Keep the fire extinguisher nearby for this one for both yourself and your e-Reader! If I needed to pick an alpha-to-the-bone demon to fall for, I just might pick one like Lash Demon Gunnar, the kind who needs a VERY strong-willed and feisty female like Nicole to tame the beast in him. Nicole and her sisters have special abilities, none of them understand how or why, but for Nicole, controlling the wind is her ability, one only her sisters know about. By day Nicole tries to be as normal as the girl next door, but by night, she and one of her sisters become the Dynamic Duo, seeking out the ugliest and most vile corners of Chicago, determined to use their own brand of justice on the dregs of the earth who prey on the innocent and weak. Enter Gunnar, who realizes just who and what Nicole and her sisters are and the heat factor notches up oh, about a mazillion degrees, and Nicole’s life will NEVER be the same, again. Not to worry, Wicked Wind by Sharon Kay has a great tale to tell, too! Fantasy, action, suspense and romance, sensually wicked romance, it’s all here, thanks to Ms. Kay’s own gift, her ability to create a world where anything can happen and it IS believable! Looking for a strong female who can tame the wild beast, who can stand her ground against the shock of finding out she is a creature of legendary proportions in a world she never knew existed? Do you like those big, bad heroes with a heart under all those muscles? Sharon Kay gives them to you with a promise of more to come in a huge way! The action is off the charts, both under the sheets and on the streets. The compliment of the supporting characters will alternately have you laughing and possibly wondering about those things you hear go bump in the night! And talk about a match made in Heaven, or, um Hell, or wherever, Nicole and Gunnar are it! In a world filled with paranormal romance, Wicked Wind is like a breath of fresh air, or should I say, a raging tornado, thanks to Sharon Kay! Get ready to strap in, hunker down, hide out and enjoy the twists, turns and heat of this “guilty pleasure!” (And remember to keep the fire extinguisher close by.)

My Review: 4.6 Star Review - Wicked Wind There are 4 Solsti females that are linked by blood and able to control the elements; air, water, fire and earth. Good Demons v/s Evil Demons working towards a war. Nicole can control wind. Brooke can control water. Will they destroy the rest of humanity or will they work towards a good outcome? Do they even want to deal with the powers they have that they never asked for and are not sure how they received them? Did they get the powers from the evil side or the good side? Gunnar who is a lash demon must protect Nicole from the other demons who have found out about her power. He power can be used for both good and evil. But does she want is protection? Loved the story. Steamy at times and action packed. Very happy I was able to read the story.

The Solsti are four females linked by blood. Each possessed an affinity to one of the four elements: air, water, fire, and earth. Wicked Wind is one steamy paranormal romance!!! It is fast paced, suspense filled, and HOT!!!  It introduces us to a world of demons, parallel worlds, ancient prophesies, and much more.  This is one of those books that I was sneaking reading time in just so I could see what happens next. It is a fantastic story with characters that you will fall in love with. The book introduces us to the Bonham sisters, Nicole, Brooke, and Ginny…the author gets bonus points for picking fantastic character names…and they all have a different paranormal ability that they have kept hidden from the world.  (There is another sister but I don’t want to spoil anything by saying too much about her.) Book 1 of the Solsti Series focuses on Nicole and lash demon Gunnar. The author does a great job of letting us get to know both Nicole and Gunnar. Being able to hear the multiple POV’s added an extra dash of heat to an all ready steamy story. I would recommend this book to adult readers that love a hot paranormal romance with a fantastic story-line. I can honestly say that it has been added to my list of favorites in this genre. It is great!  I will be anxiously awaiting Book 2. I  can’t wait to see what the author, Sharon Kay, has in store for Nicole’s sister Brooke and lash demon Kai, both of which have real attitude problems. Their story promises to be just as hot and intense as Nicole’s and Gunnar’s.

Rating: 4.5 rounded up to 5 This was quite an intriguing read. The opening introduced us to the butt kicking heroines, sisters Nicole and Brooke, and the unfolding events from there just kept me riveted to the pages. I stayed up all night to read this and finished in just over five hours. The world building was also quite interesting. I didn't have any difficulty picturing the surroundings the characters found themselves in. This story took place on both Earth and the demon realm, Torth, in equal measure. It's not often I come across stories where the heroine is almost equal to a badass alpha male, but I did feel that Nicole could hold her own, at least with the less dangerous foes in this story. I think as the series goes on, she'll receive more fight training (love the sparing sessions with Gunnar), and develop her powers more. I enjoyed Nicole and Gunnar as a couple. Something else that was new to me was that there wasn't a long preamble about who or what they were. Gunnar pretty much got to the point very quickly, while Nicole took a little longer to come clean about everything, but in her defense, she had more to lose and played it smart. As their relationship developed they were surprisingly open with one another, and I loved that they supported each other. Gunnar was quite a sexy hero, from his looks down to his other assets. He was powerful and very protective. The Watchers, made up of Gunnar, Kai, Rhys, Brenin and Raniero, were Lash demons. We got brief glimpses of each Watcher throughout the story, Kai and Raniero in particular which makes me think the next two books will be their story. I also have a niggling suspicion about Raniero's lost love, and I'm dying to find out if I'm right. I won't get into the Solsti because I don't want to give too much away. As far as rest of the story, I wouldn't go so far as to say there was a massive info dump, but when it came to all the different (demon) species in this story, I did feel a little overwhelmed with all the names, especially trying to remember individuals; not knowing if they'd be important later or not. There was a decent amount of bloody battles throughout the story, a nice show of Nicole's powers and a lot of sex. Although the sex was very hot, I felt it was a little too much that they seemed to outweigh the action. Also, this story had multiple POVs. They didn't bother me or detract from the story. Overall, I was very much entertained and look forward to reading the next book in the series. The sweetest thing was seeing him struggle between wanting to shield her completely from any danger and allowing her to do what she was essentially her calling. I think as the series goes on and we meet the other sisters, the fellas will all go through the same thing as Gunnar - having to accept that their females don't need to be coddled but encouraged and supported. Another plus is that this book didn't end on a cliffhanger. I'm guessing that each book will have a new danger or a new villain to overcome so you will get a wrapped up story. Disclaimer: I received a review copy from the author for the purpose of an honest review.

Grade: A This book was quite good. I'm a fantasy person, so this paranormal romance  was up my alley enough that I was willing to take a chance! I think your basis for novels definitely influences review, and for me, I quite enjoyed this book, even though, I'm not the biggest  romance reader. The idea behind it interested me, and vaguely reminded me of some awesome airbending scenes from Avatar: The Last Airbender TV show, so I was drawn in at that idea. The characters were great, a strong male and female. The descriptions of  Nicole and Gunnar were quite good, detailed enough, but not overly so. The chemistry between them felt realistic and wasn't forced. It's a pretty steamy connection between them, but it reals pretty honest and real. Gunnar becomes quite the male hero in this novel, and he and Nicole has a pretty great adventure. Nicole is pretty badass, and that's nice to see in a romance! The plot was interesting, a lot happened in about a week's time, so it's a pretty fast paced novel, and it kept me reading. There was a lot of suspense, and action, and it was a little edge of your seat for a bit, but that's good. A paranormal romance that doesn't neglect it's paranormal side is always a win for me. I've read so many romances classified like this that introduce something paranormal like, and then just head into the romance and don't get back to the other action! I liked that Sharon Kay kept us up on the paranormal action side of things as well! :) The book is well written, I didn't really notice any grammatical errors, or issues that caused me to stop reading. It followed well and even though it has two dimensions it dealt with, the transitions were clear and I wasn't confused. The idea is unique, detailed, and kept me reading. I thought the ending was good, and I expect to see good things from the next books in this series! :) ** I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

This was a really great read! I really liked the writing style and the storyline was fascinating. I couldn't put the book down. I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out. I would call it a romantic fantasy with great characters, lots of sex and scenes that will have you on the edge of your seat! Loved it!
